Early experience

In 1968, Ma Dezhong was born in a poor family of eight. His father was a taxi driver. He was the youngest in the family and had three brothers and two sisters. As a teenager, he lived with his family in a government subsidized low rent housing estate in Kwai Chung, new territories. He studied at Yuen Long Chiu Yu Xiu Memorial Secondary School. Because of his poor family background, Ma Dezhong joined the Royal Hong Kong Police Cadet Training school after graduating from junior high school and became a junior police officer.

In 1986, at the age of 18, Mr. Ma graduated from the Royal Hong Kong Police Cadet Training School and served successively as a uniformed patrol, a mobile unit and a casual agent. In 1988, he was admitted to the G4 special police force of the Ministry of political affairs. He was responsible for protecting visiting politicians and heads of state. In 1989, Ma Dezhong was selected to the Hong Kong volleyball team to prepare for the 1990 Beijing Asian Games on behalf of Hong Kong. In 2012, Ma Dezhong invested and opened "happy office furniture". The first flagship store is located in Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, specializing in high-end original and imported furniture.
