Early experience
Dong Yong is a martial arts student of Peking Opera. In 1978, he was admitted to the Chinese opera academy and studied martial arts. In 1985, he graduated and was assigned to Hangzhou Peking Opera Theater as the No.1 male producer of Beijing Opera "new dragon and phoenix". He left Hangzhou Peking Opera Theater in 1991.
