Character evaluation
Xia gang has a unique personal style. His works focus on the expression of urban life and emotion, which is very realistic (China online review). His city theme films often focus on the thinking of the emotional value in the commodity society, which seems difficult to be measured by art films or commercial films (Fenghuang online review). Xia gang has been quietly practicing his "commitment" with his own actions. He follows the artistic style he has formed, always focuses on the life of ordinary people in the city, and sticks to the position of urban film. City is an important carrier in Xia Gang's films. With the help of city and the life of city people, he expresses his perception and understanding of life. In life, Xia Gang advocates simplicity and tranquility, with black framed glasses on a chubby face showing a bit of peace. He spoke slowly, and the filming scene was not impatient. He had a Confucian demeanor. Xia gang has a strong sense of humor.
