Dong Cheng
Dong Cheng, master tutor of Institute of physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is mainly engaged in the exploration of high temperature superconductors and the research of crystal structure analysis by powder method. In 1991, Dong Cheng, political commissar of Anshan military division, was established as a model for leading cadres by the 39th group army. His articles, such as "analysis of Ideological and political work under the condition of market economy" and "singing the main melody of barracks culture", were published in military logistics magazine and command journal.

Male, born in June 1954, received a master's degree from Peking University in 1984 and a doctor's degree from Institute of physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1988. From November 1988 to November 1991, he did postdoctoral research in the United States. Vice director of the State Key Laboratory of superconductivity from 1993 to 2000. At present, he is a researcher and doctoral supervisor of Institute of physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research scope
Before 1987, he was engaged in the research of intermetallic compound hydrogen storage materials and magnetic materials, and later engaged in the exploration of high temperature superconductors and the research of powder method crystal structure analysis methods. The phase diagram and hydrogenation performance of ti-al-la ternary system have been determined; Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductor with nearly single phase was synthesized in early 1987; the solid solution region of La-Ba-Cu-O superconductor was found and its range was determined; the single crystal of thallium 2212 superconductor was grown; new superconductors of tl-re-sr-cu-o system and tl-bi-sr-ca-cu-o system were found; the zero point correction of powder diffraction, accurate deduction of k-alpha2 and best fitting were developed The algorithm of cell parameter refinement and overlapping peak intensity separation. The software powderx for powder diffraction data processing and structure analysis has been developed by more than 1000 users at home and abroad. Since 1992, more than 110 SCI papers have been published and cited more than 300 times. Recently, a new method of structural chemistry classification of superconductors and a binary structural chemistry model of superconductors have been proposed. MgB2, MgCNi3, LiTi2O4 and YBa2Cu3O7 superconductors have been prepared by hybrid microwave synthesis.

Responsible for the construction and application of supercomputing environment of knowledge innovation project of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the construction of scientific computing platform, the project of "determination of crystal structure by powder diffraction" and the project of NSFC "synthesis of new boride and oxide superconductors, crystal structure and Superconductivity Research". This project mainly focuses on the exploration of new superconductors and the relationship between structure and properties, focusing on the study of layered compounds containing mixed valence transition metal ions. While exploring the synthesis of new materials, we should develop new material synthesis methods, study the new algorithm of powder diffraction crystal structure analysis and develop the corresponding computer software.
