Xing Aowei
Xing Aowei, born in Yantai, Shandong Province on February 15, 1982, is a Chinese gymnast, world champion and Olympic champion.
He began to study gymnastics at the age of 5. He was selected into the Shandong team in 1990 and the national team in 1994. The 1998 Bangkok Asian Games team, pommel horse champion, horizontal bar third; 1999 World Championship Men's team champion, floor exercise third; 2000 Sydney Olympic Games gymnastics men's team champion; 2001 East Asian Games team, vault, horizontal bar champion; 2002 Busan Asian Games team champion.
He retired in 2005 and was a coach of China Junior gymnastic team, deputy director and senior coach of gymnastic management center of Shandong Sports Bureau. It entered the investment industry in 2015.
Early experience
Xing Aowei joined the gymnastics team of Yantai Zhifu amateur sports school in 1988, and his initial coach was Wang Yufu. In 1990, Xing Aowei was selected into the Shandong gymnastics team, under the guidance of Jin Zhimian. In 1994, Xing Aowei entered the junior training team of the national gymnastics team, and was trained by the national team coach team, under the guidance of head coach Huang Yubin.
Sports career
In 1997, Xing Aowei represented the country for the first time and participated in the Lausanne Gymnastics World Championships. In cooperation with Li Xiaopeng, Yang Wei, Huang Xu, Xiao Junfeng and Dong Zhen, he won the men's team championship of the world championships for the fourth time for the Chinese team.
In 1998, he won the gymnastics men's team champion and the third place on the horizontal bar at the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok, and won the championship by defeating the world champion Pei Zezhu of North Korea in the pommel horse final, thus becoming famous in the first World War. In the same year, he won the pommel horse championship in the national championship.
In 1999, he won the pommel horse champion and the second place of floor exercise in the National Championships; in the Tianjin Gymnastics World Championships, he won the fifth men's team championship of the Chinese team with Li Xiaopeng, Yang Wei, Huang Xu, Zheng Lihui and Dong Zhen; Xing Aowei won the third place of floor exercise in the individual competition; in the same year, he won the pommel horse champion of the World Cup series and the second place of the national championship.
In May 2000, Xing Aowei won the men's floor exercise champion with 9.800 points, pommel horse champion with 9.800 points, men's parallel bars runner up with 9.825 points and men's individual all-around champion with 57.975 points in the National Gymnastics Championship; in September Sydney Olympic Games, Xing Aowei took part in the Olympic Games for the first time, and obtained super high scores of 9.7 on parallel bars and 9.737 on horizontal bars in the men's team finals Wei, Huang Xu, Zheng Lihui and Xiao Junfeng helped the Chinese team win the championship. This is China's first Olympic men's team gold medal, which fills the blank of Chinese gymnastics team's Olympic gold medal zero, and realizes the breakthrough of Shandong Olympic gold medal zero.
In May 2001, he won the champion of group, vault and horizontal bar in East Asian Games, and the champion of horizontal bar in national championship; in November, he won the champion of floor exercise and horizontal bar in the 9th National Games in Guangzhou.
In September 2002, Xing Aowei participated in the 14th Busan Asian Games, and the Chinese team won the men's team gymnastics championship with 228.825 points.
In 2003, at the 37th World Gymnastics Championship held in Anaheim, the Chinese team composed of Xing Aowei, Li Xiaopeng, Yang Wei, Huang Xu, Teng Haibin and Xiao Qin won the world championship again in the final, although they only ranked third in the preliminary. In September, he won the individual all-around and floor exercise Championships in the National Gymnastics Championship.
In 2004, Xing Aowei participated in the elegant Olympic Games for the second time on behalf of the Chinese team, but the Chinese men's team finally ranked fifth with 171.257 points.
After the 10th National Games in 2005, Xing Aowei officially announced his retirement.

On October 5, 2008, Xing Aowei married Zhu Yingying, a former member of the national gymnastics team. On March 15, 2010, their daughter Xing Qianjin was born with the nickname "Kaixin" and English name Miya. Xing Aowei filed for divorce in January 2013 and November 2013 respectively. On June 14, 2014, they were divorced. After the divorce, Xing Aowei and his ex-wife are still friends. Every weekend, he and his ex-wife take their children to travel.
Teaching life
On November 11, Xing Aowei officially became a coach of China's gymnastics team, setting a record for the youngest coach of China's gymnastics team. He is also the first Olympic champion of China's gymnastics team to stay as a coach.

In 2015, Xing Aowei and Wang Liping, the women's 20 kilometer race walking champion of the Sydney Olympic Games, together with Bian Guangming and Ji Weijia, two other partners, jointly established the sports investment fund "champion VC".
