Character evaluation
Ling Zifeng is passionate, tireless and eager to shoot 20 plays a year, versatile and rich in artistic imagination, optimistic and comfortable even in the end, and even different in dress. In the history of Chinese film, Ling Zifeng may be a director with the most crazy dreams. Especially in the new era, it is often impractical and surprising. He is not only a real man, but also a child in the art world. He is simple, naive, romantic and understanding. Moreover, his films are permeated with a kind of human feelings. He praises women, eulogizes women and worships women. He likes truth, he believes in goodness, he loves beauty, pursues beauty and expresses beauty. His poetic and picturesque empty lens and his assiduous pursuit of the traditional aesthetic style of blending feelings and scenes basically run through all his films (review by Shen Dachun of Southwest University).
