He graduated from Shanghai Academy of drama in 1951 and worked as an actor in Shanghai People's Art Theatre. Xu Yide, who starred in the TV series "morning in Shanghai", won the 10th TV series flying sky award, the 8th Golden Eagle Award for best actor, the first Baosteel elegant art award and the first Shanghai TV Society Award. Guo Moruo and Li Shiqing, who starred in the film "when will the sky shine" and "sunrise", were nominated for best actor and supporting actor in the Golden Rooster Award, as well as the first Shanghai Literature and Art Award.
