Personal experience
Tang Baoyun applied for the Hong Kong Dianmao company actor recruitment examination in 1960 and lost by five points. In 1961, Tang Baoyun took part in the recruitment examination of the actor training class set up by China Film Corporation. Among more than 100 people, Tang Baoyun's simple dress was not conspicuous. However, he was strongly recommended by an invigilator and became a trainee of the actor training class of China Film Corporation. After the training, he signed a contract to become a basic actor of China Film Corporation. Tang Baoyun's "duck raising family" is a representative work of a healthy realistic film in the 1960s. It takes the countryside as the background and emphasizes the ethics of "nurturing is more important than procreation". In this work, it also fully shows the grassroots aspects of Taiwan's rural life and opera troupes. Tang Baoyun, the heroine of the film, does not make a pretentious interpretation of the filial little girl who raises ducks in the countryside. She later became known as "duck Princess". This work has made Tang Baoyun a famous star of China Film Corporation since then. From 1965 to 1967, he successively performed "cousin Wanjun", "my daughter Ruolan", "lonely seventeen" and "the sixth dream" directed by Li Baoxing and Bai Jingrui, which all got good reviews. In 1967, he married artist Qi Weiyi and left the film industry to settle in the United States. in 1971, he returned to China to take part in the autumn duel directed by Li Xing and made a comeback in the film world. From 1972 to 1979, he took over many different types of films, including literary films such as "light rain" and "late autumn", comedies such as "who's hen doesn't lay eggs" and "rain in the west when it's sunny in the East", martial arts films such as "Nanxia Zhanzhao" and "secret sect God's legs", and ghost films such as "Zhang Tianshi receives demons" and "snake Lang Jun". At the same time, he expanded the performing arts field, participated in the performance of TV programs, and served as the host of "one, two, three, let's watch" in China TV. In 1980, he divorced Qi Weiyi and went into business. However, he still couldn't forget to perform and took part in the performance of the TV series "iron courage and tenderness". 1981 performed "laugh when I see you" and hosted CCTV's "Golden Horse 18 years". In 1983, he performed "No.1 in the world" directed by Hu Jinquan, and since then, he has stopped acting. 1987 caused concern due to unstable mental state. He was admitted to Rongzong and Hongji neuropsychiatric hospital for recuperation in 1988. He died in Taipei Gengshen hospital on May 14, 1999. He was 55 years old.

Character evaluation
Tang Baoyun's image on the big screen is mostly a typical female image in line with the traditional values, which coincides with the atmosphere of the times at that time, and is also the same as his personal nature. In the healthy and realistic films of the sixties, Tang Baoyun's image with traditional virtues, innocence and kindness just coincides with it and becomes a combination that complements each other.
