Yu zheguang
Yu zheguang (1906-1991) was an art film director. From Wuxi. In 1925, he entered Shanghai Academy of fine arts and studied traditional Chinese painting in an old village. Since 1927, he has been teaching in middle school, primary school and normal college. In 1932, he began to study the production and performance of puppet shows. In 1942, he founded and led the first Puppet Troupe in Shanghai, Shanghai Amateur troupe. For the first time, he performed "primitive man" designed by him to educate children on the history of human evolution. In 1943, he edited and directed the black swan adapted from Andersen's famous works.

In 1944, he performed a puppet play of the same name adapted from the long poem song of everlasting regret by Bai Juyi, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, and a puppet play Shi Kefa, which praises the national hero. On the children's day in 1945, he performed a puppet play "Alice's dream", which was designed by him, with the theme of diligent study, careful communication, saving and saving, and vividly educating children.
Since 1950, he has been a technician and director of the art film group of Shanghai Film Studio and Shanghai Art Film Studio. His puppet films include Mr. Dongguo, hunting, fat sister-in-law's return to her mother's home, three butterflies and red signal. In 1962, he cooperated with Zhang Chaoqun and others to make a stage documentary "drama in the palm" from the exquisite palm art of Yang Sheng, a famous folk puppet artist. In 1960, he combined the artistic characteristics of puppet films and paper-cut films, absorbed the shooting principles of these films, and finally created another new variety of art films origami. This kind of film's unique artistic form is especially suitable for preschool children. He has successively edited and produced five pieces of folding paper, including smart duck, Chinese cabbage, singing and dancing on the lake, three wolves, and duckling Gaga, which were warmly welcomed by small audiences. Yu zheguang compiled puppet art and shadow play art based on his experience in puppet and shadow play art accumulated in more than 50 years of creative practice.
