Early experience
Wang yuelun learned to draw with his father when he was 5 years old. In 1993, Wang yuelun graduated from the middle school attached to the Central Academy of fine arts. In 1995, graduated from the Central Academy of fine arts oil painting. After graduating from the Central Academy of fine arts, Wang yuelun did not go on painting. After entering the society, Wang yuelun has done a lot of work related to art design, such as designing brochures for enterprises, designing packaging for products, and even designing tooling. Later, he saw a story about recruiting a director to make a special documentary for a TV station, so he became a documentary director.
Wang yuelun's documentaries focus on films and films. In this process, he interviewed many filmmakers and participated in many international film festivals. Because of his good English, Wang yuelun became friends with a foreign filmmaker. On his recommendation, he went to New York Film Academy to study directing in 1998. In 2000, he started directing music videos and advertisements.

Personal life
Wang yuelun's father is an oil painter. In January 2009, Wang yuelun and Li Xiang officially registered for marriage. At about 9:25 p.m. on October 13 of the same year, Li Xiang gave birth to her daughter Wang Shiling by caesarean section in Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
On the evening of August 14, 2020, Wang yuelun was photographed in KTV playing "wall thump" with a female friend in white in the corridor, even holding hands, cuddling and other intimate behaviors. In the early morning of August 16, Wang yuelun apologized for KTV's intimacy with women.
