Sun Lirong
Sun Lirong, male, born in 1926 in Weifang City, Shandong Province, is a member of Shandong Artists Association. Famous artist of traditional Chinese painting.
Personal introduction
Mr. Sun Lirong is famous for his painting of cats. At first, I learned that his paintings were also cats. However, he was not limited to painting cats. His paintings of flowers, birds and figures were also very distinctive. His paintings of cats are almost all kittens, Linglong lively, childish fun: but he also painted the lion, the largest cat in the family Felidae, vigorous and graceful. After seeing the lions he painted, he realized that his favorite painting of kittens was not that he was not good at showing maturity and old age, but that he was particularly fond of the tender and delicate kittens.
Life figures
In 1935, at the age of nine, when he was in the third grade of primary school, he met his first painting teacher, later master of traditional Chinese painting Yu Xining. Mr. Yu was an art teacher at youfanggou primary school in Weifang at that time. Mr. Sun followed him for three years. At that time, sun's family was not good, but he never gave up learning to draw.
In 1942, because of his poor family, sun had to work in Qingdao alone. During this period, sun did not give up his love of painting, and insisted on seeking the teacher's advice at night. At that time, Mr. Sun came into contact with teachers such as Xu Peiji and Chen Shourong. They didn't expect that the teacher-student relationship at this time would write a good story in a few years. In 1962, by chance, sun Lirong and Xu Peiji jointly created the acclaimed picture of lion awakening. During his study in Qingdao, Mr. Sun began to learn calligraphy from Mr. Gao Xiaoyan. In this stage, sun Lirong insisted on working hard to earn money while studying calligraphy and painting. "That time was hard, but it was also a treasure in my life," Sun recalled
In 1947, sun Lirong returned to Weifang from Qingdao. At that time, Mr. Xu Peiji introduced Mr. Sun to the famous figure painter Guo Lancun to learn how to draw figures. At the same time, Mr. Sun also came into contact with an important art celebrity in his life, Mr. Guo Weijuan (at this time, Mr. Guo was the headmaster of a middle school in Weicheng District). Under his guidance, he began to shape his own painting style. It was at this time that sun Lirong's art made a great leap forward.
In 1956, Mr. Guo Lancun, who especially appreciated sun Lirong, transferred him from an office and set up an art research office, which was the predecessor of the Institute of Arts and crafts. At that time, they put forward four goals, namely: Mining traditional crafts, training new successors, organizing old artists to return to the team, and combining tradition with innovation. With their unremitting efforts, almost all the folk arts and crafts in Weifang have been restored, including New Year pictures, rubbings, kites, embroidery and so on. At the same time, they also founded Weifang arts and crafts school. Later, a group of famous calligraphers and painters such as Yao Zhixing came out of the school. During this period, sun Lirong had extensive contact with a number of art education experts.
In 1963, Mr. Sun came to Beijing Central Academy of fine arts for further study and studied fine brushwork with Tian Shiguang. After that, sun Lirong learned to paint cats from Cao Ke's family, who was famous for painting cats at that time. Sun recalled that this stage of learning was of great significance for him to form the characteristics of his own paintings.
In 1989, sun Lirong retired from his post. With his efforts, Weifang calligraphy and Painting Research Institute was established. Sun Lirong also served as the first president, and the calligraphy and Painting Research Institute became the Art Salon of local famous artists. Everyone gathered around, painting and calligraphy at the same time to communicate, in constant correction of innovation and improvement. Mr. Sun recalled that he once looked out of the window with a smile, reflecting on the good times at that time.
