Jiang Guijin: a woman in charge of rent
An interview with F records in January 2008
Twvoice (Taiwan dubbing promotion group)
In his famous action movie Kung Fu, Stephen Chow has a ruthless character with a cigarette in his head, who is called the rent girl. In Taiwan's dubbing industry, there is also a senior and powerful dubber, who has many well-known posterity. Online feverish Zhan Yajing and Lin Meixiu are one of her students. She is the one to be introduced in this issue - Jiang Guijin, known as "Pangniu".
When it comes to "fat girl", the first thing that impresses us most is the disordered horse in "1 / 2 disordered horse" and the protagonist of "bread Superman". Jiang Guijin's voice is different from the sweet female voice. She is neutral, mellow and full of explosive power. Therefore, she can bear the responsibility of the Chartered woman in Kung Fu. In addition to animation works, we can often hear Jiang Guijin's voice appear in national films in the past prosperous years. Sometimes she is fierce, sometimes gentle, sometimes simple and honest, sometimes she is just a naughty little boy. In the past 20 years, she has played a role that is dazzling and astonishing. She has also been invited to dub in Hong Kong, causing waves in the dubbing industry in Hong Kong. Not only that, Jiang Guijin is also committed to the promotion of the Chinese distribution industry. She has taught countless students, and her teaching methods are both rigid and flexible. As a result, she has trained many powerful dubbing staff.
This issue will visit Jiang Guijin to let readers know the charming charm of this "fat girl".
Q: How did you enter the bank at the beginning?
A: it's very interesting to talk about (laughter)... I was bored after I got married, so I went to the matching training class of China TV. My sister helped me apply for it. I went to the first matching training class of China TV, and it has been 20 years now (in 2008).
Q: what efforts and training did you make at the beginning?
A: very hard! At that time, I didn't understand it at all, so at the beginning, I followed elder brother Xiangsheng (Li Xiangsheng) to work in his studio. At that time, he had his own studio, so I went to work every day. Since I got married, I have nothing to do every day, so I can go every day! And spend a lot of time and effort, like the sound change of the game, so began the dubbing road! Try to guess the tone of others, to imitate, to learn. Then I learned how to match movies. After I finished studying movie dubbing, I learned about the behind the scenes administration of movies, and then TV dubbing.
Q: who has the most influence on you when Pangniu enters the dubbing circle?
A: in fact, everyone who has worked with you will have some influence on you. For me, the most important person is brother Xiangsheng, because he brought me into the dubbing industry. And then there is Miss Wang Jingping. She takes students in an all-round way, just like I did later. She gives me a very good model. Besides taking people with heart, she teaches all kinds of things, including personal life, behavior, dealing with people and so on.
In addition, I learned TV dubbing with Mr. Chen Mingyang. The three of them have a great influence on me, because they have decided my life's work, and my attitude towards people is also learned from these three teachers.
Q: what is your most impressive work?
A: usually we are talking about renting Brahms! I was quite impressed by the answer. What I remember now is Liu Bowen, who is now matching. As long as I match the drama in Minnan dialect, I will have a better impression, because Minnan dialect is not my native language. In the past, I was often asked to match some old actors' plays. They were very eloquent. At that time, they were not on the radio, so if there was a missing voice, they couldn't match it, so I had to help them dub it. But it's more painful to match them, because I speak Minnan very badly (laughter).
Q: which work makes you spend the most time trying to figure out the characters in the play?
A: I've been engaged in this industry for a long time. In the early days, I relied on watching other people's plays, and then I started to engage in this industry. There's really nothing to speculate about. I usually talk to students in class that we should treat ourselves as water. The different roles of different programs are a container, and water changes its shape with the container, so there is no speculation! I just need to see a play and ask the director to explain my personality to me. I should be able to devote myself to it. I often learn and sell dubbing now. I used to work with Dutch speakers (laughter). Now I'm old and slow to respond. I used to record a whole string of Shanghai dialect, that is, I went to Shanghai with my mobile phone to ask people what to say, and then I matched it.
Q: what is the most difficult part of dubbing?
A: the most difficult thing is that the funds are too low. I think I'm going through a bottleneck now, that is, I have to consider whether you take this case for the sake of life. In Taiwan, the funding for dubbing is very low. If I like to record drama, I may like it very much. If I want to record it, I go to ask for dubbing. Even if I'm senior, I don't talk about the price. But that's because I really like dubbing, this kind of thing can't be too frequent.
Q: the most important thing for a voicer is the vocal cords and throat. How do you maintain them?
A: in the dubbing industry, my voice is quite special, because I am a neutral voice. In fact, I am still helping the recording studio to review manuscripts. I work day and night upside down, which affects my voice. The only thing I pay more attention to is... Don't let yourself catch a cold!
Q: where is the hard work of dubbing?
A: it's better than the general welfare of dubbing, but there is no job security. At first glance, you will feel that the dubbing work is very good, at least a little better than the general office workers, but the work must take a long-term view, I do not recommend you to try the dubbing industry. I usually tell you that it's better to learn dubbing after you have a good career and take dubbing as a sideline. But there is a contradiction here, because learning dubbing requires a lot of investment in the early stage, and you must develop your Kung Fu before you can become a sideline. But when you want to train basic Kung Fu, you just have to invest in the whole process, and then you can't find a normal career, so it's a very serious point. So are students. When there is a class, do you want to follow the class or go to class? If you choose to take a class, the head of the class will consider that this person is a student and it's troublesome to find him. His cooperation is low, so he may not send the class.
Q: how do you adjust your way of speaking?
A: for example, I'm giving lessons to some people now. In fact, if you cultivate a correct way of speaking for up to three months, you can cultivate a habit, and you should supervise it closely
