Induction story
Temple fire, Weituo warning
In the late Qing Dynasty, there was a temple in Putuo Mountain. At night, a nameless fire broke out. That night, a little monk was sleeping under the statue of Weituo Buddha. In his dream, he saw a Dharma protector in gold armor who looked like Weituo saying to him, "there is a fire in the temple. Hurry to escape. "Little monk suddenly woke up and saw the fire burning in the temple. In a hurry, he picked up the statue of Wei Tuo and ran to the gate of the temple. The fire was extremely rampant. After burning overnight, until the morning, when people looked at the disaster, they found that the temple was full of damage, and only the statue of Wei Tuo was standing outside the door. The statue of Wei Tuo weighs several hundred jin. It must be carried by several strong men with all their strength. Now a little monk can carry it on his own, which shows the effectiveness of Wei Tuo. Wei Tuo is a Buddhist Taibao who is good at walking and flying. In China, Wei Tuo stands behind Maitreya Buddha in the temple of heavenly kings. Facing the main hall, he looks at the pagoda in front of the main hall and guards the bones and relics in the pagoda to prevent evil spirits from stealing. In addition, it also protects the monks in the temple to protect the Dharma. (the legend of Mount Putuo)
Personal experience, two kinds of business
During the northern and Southern Dynasties (QI), sengyuan lived in Xuesi temple in Liangzhou. He did not obey the rules and drank and ate meat. Suddenly, mengweituo angrily accused him, "you are a monk. Why don't you take a look at yourself in the mirror?" in the morning, when you get up and take a look at yourself, you can see that the edge of your eyes is dark black. You think it's dust. You wipe it with your hands and your eyebrows fall off. He was shocked and remorseful. From then on, he wore old patchwork clothes, broke shoes, ate Changsu, and only had a meal at noon. Sooner or later, repent and shed tears. More than a month later, he dreamed that Bodhisattva Weituo said to him with a smile, "if you can recognize and correct your sins, you are a wise man. Now you're forgiven! "He was surprised and happy, sweating all over his body, his face was shiny, and his eyebrows were born again. After experiencing these two kinds of karma, he firmly believed that the cause and effect of the third generation was not false. Therefore, he sincerely followed the religion without retrogression, and finally became a famous monk. (published in zumen Chongxing Lu)
If you owe the permanent residence money, the Bodhisattva will return it
(Qing Fuyan ordained monk) the next ordained monk of the Fuyan Fei old man Association in the Qing Dynasty. When he was ordained, he owed five yuan of silver and did not return it for four years. After the old man passed away, the monk dreamed that Bodhisattva Weituo ordered him to return the silver, and said, "although the capital is five yuan, plus the interest, it should be two Liang." The ordained monk said, "the monk has passed away. Who can I return it to?" Bodhisattva Wei Tuo said, "the monk is not alive. You can send him to Lingyin Temple to settle this case." When the monk woke up, he personally sent the silver to Lingyin Temple to explain the situation and offer sacrifices to the old people. The temple presided over a drum call for monks to explain the incident, hoping that the public should be cautious about the cause and effect, and said: "our temple is currently under construction, and there is a large amount of money and food revenue and expenditure, so Bodhisattva Weituo specially used this incident to warn us!" (published with the record of the results)
