Zhang Chaoqun, male, animation director. Born in Nanchang on August 25, 1921. He has been engaged in puppet movies for a long time and is a versatile artist with rich artistic talent. The 1958 director's puppet film Sanmao vagrancy is deeply loved by the audience.

Life figures

Before liberation

When he was 14 years old, his elder sister Zhang Manping took him to Beiping to work as a small actor in China Travel theater company and help manage props. After the establishment of Shanghai Film Studio, he went back to Shanghai film studio to take part in the photography of the film "Happy Farmhouse". After the film was finished, he transferred to the art group to do puppet photography. The first puppet film he took as a photographer was "dove of peace", but it didn't show because the content didn't match the situation of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea at that time.

After liberation

At the end of 1951, he joined the color experimental group of Shanghai Film Technology Department to overcome the technical difficulties of color photography and development. With the help of the color experimental group, he finally made the first color puppet film little hero, which is the first color film in the history of Chinese art film.

His first puppet film "careless little fat", which reflects children's interest in life, teaches children to be careful and not careless, is to let children receive education in laughter. He has directed "a new football", "two brothers" and other films, creating a precedent for puppets to reflect the life of modern children.

In 1960, during the movement of technological innovation and technological revolution, Zhang Chaoqun saw foreign popular three-dimensional films. He also made a bold exploration.
