Gan Xuewei, born in January 1917 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, is a Chinese film director and film educator.

Profile

In 1932, he entered Shanghai MAILUN middle school to study. During the school, he took part in the drama "put down your whip" and "the storm of the Yangtze River". In 1937, Wang San and suanzao were performed in Weiming opera company. In 1938, he entered the drama department of Yan'an Lu Xun art college. After graduating in 1939, he stayed as a teaching assistant. In 1941, he played sun Ning in the drama the man with a gun, and won the first prize of Luyi creation annual meeting. In 1948, he was the director of northeast film studio. Director of the film "the victory of the people of Inner Mongolia", "shajiadian grain station" and so on. He has been teaching in the director department of Beijing Film Academy since 1955. Professor since 1961. In 1964, he was the director of Beijing Film Studio, directing films such as Xiao erhei's marriage and boiling mountains. In 1978, he returned to Beijing Film Academy to teach. Gan Xuewei has been fond of drama since he was young, and has been actively involved in the performance of progressive drama. He focused on enriching himself in life, accumulating creative materials, and letting life itself stimulate his creative passion. From 1949 to 1950, Gan Xuewei directed the victory of the people of Inner Mongolia, which truly and deeply reflected the life of the people of Inner Mongolia. The film won the screenwriter award at the 7th karovi Farley International Film Festival in Czech Republic. Xiao Er Hei's marriage, which was edited and directed in 1964, not only maintains the simple and local style of Zhao Shuli's original novel, but also is unconventional and elegant. The image of Xiaoqin, a new woman with rebellious spirit, is created.
