Huang Wei
Huang Wei, born in Nantong in April 1961, male, Han nationality, from Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, is an expert in road, bridge and traffic engineering. He is a member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University) in July 1982 with a postgraduate degree, a doctor of engineering, a professor and doctoral supervisor.
He once served as Dean of School of communications, Southeast University, executive vice president, director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of construction, vice governor of Jiangsu provincial government, Vice Minister of construction, Vice Minister of housing and urban rural development, vice mayor of Beijing, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region, executive vice chairman of the government, etc. He is now a member of the Party group and vice minister of the Ministry of science and technology. He was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2007.
Huang Wei has been engaged in the research of road, bridge and traffic engineering for a long time.

Achievements in scientific research
Huang Wei has been engaged in the research of road, bridge and traffic engineering for a long time. He is one of the main pioneers in the field of steel deck pavement and intelligent transportation system of long-span bridges in China. He is the inventor of new multi-component epoxy asphalt materials in China. He has organized and led the design and engineering implementation of steel deck pavement of nearly 30 long-span bridges in China. Since 1996, he has enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council and was selected into the "cross century talent plan of the Ministry of education".
In 1991, he won the first prize of provincial excellent teaching achievement.
In 1993, he won the second prize of national excellent teaching achievement.
In 1994, he won the third prize of science and technology progress of the Ministry of communications.
From 1994 to 2000, he won 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 1 fourth prize.
In 1996, he was granted special government allowance and selected into the cross century talent plan of the State Education Commission.
In 1999, the state made outstanding contributions to young and middle-aged experts.
In 2001, he won the first prize of China's high tech Progress Award.
In 2002, he won the first prize of science and technology progress of the Ministry of communications.
He has published 13 books and obtained more than 10 patents.
The monograph "Introduction to intelligent transportation system" is the first monograph in this field in China, which plays an important role in promoting the development of intelligent transportation system in China.

In 1996, he was rated as "top ten outstanding youth of Jiangsu Province" and "new Long March pacesetter of Jiangsu Province", and was selected as a cross century talent of the Ministry of education.
