Zhou Boxun
Zhou Boxun (1911.3-1987.8.30) was born in Lintong, Shaanxi Province. From 1930 to 1934, he studied in Shanghai Art University, Chizhi University and Fudan University, and joined the left wing writers' Union, left wing dramatists' Union and Dadao drama club. Life figures
(1911-1987) native to Lintong, Shaanxi, born in Xi'an. During the middle school period, he participated in the establishment of the red bud society troupe and performed some short plays advocating the eradication of warlords and the overthrow of great powers. In 1928, he went to Shanghai and was admitted to the literature department of Shanghai Art University. He soon joined the Nanguo society. In 1930, he transferred to Shanghai Zhizhi University and joined the left wing writers' Union and the left wing dramatists' Union. In 1931, he took part in the performances of dance of fire, street people, SOS, random bell and other progressive dramas in Dadao drama club, and took part in the shooting of the film "yutangchun". Since then, he has played a major role in Lianhua film company's "spring dream of the old capital" and Diantong film company's "peach and plum robbery", "God of freedom" and "City Scenery". At the same time, he is also responsible for the general affairs, drama, distribution, publicity and other departments of the company.
In 1936, he returned to Xi'an and served as the Vice Minister of Propaganda Department of the Northwest National Salvation Association. In 1938, he joined Chongqing Chinese film studio as the director and actor of the drama department. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, he returned to Shanghai and played Pang Haogong in the film "a river flowing eastward", which won high praise and was his masterpiece. Later, he played Zhang Juren in Wu Xun Zhuan.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in addition to taking part in the shooting of "stadium storm", "red seed" and other films, he was mainly engaged in the production and administrative work. In his nearly 40 years of film and stage career, he has played dozens of villains with different experiences and identities. He strongly advocates villain forward acting and is one of the old actors who are good at villain roles in Chinese film circles. He used to be the director of China film workers association.
