Qiu Sheng

Qiu Sheng, born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1989, is a director, screenwriter and producer in mainland China.

In 2012, he was the screenwriter of the short love film 0.36 seconds. In 2014, he directed his first short film winter gaze. In 2016, he wrote and directed the short drama "thunder and lightning". He was shortlisted for best director in the 12th Annual Youth Film Festival of the first film festival. In 2020, he will co direct the documentary "Wuhan special collection of poetry in spring" with LANBO.

Character experience

After graduating from Tsinghua University in biomedical engineering and medical devices, Qiu Sheng chose to pursue a master's degree in film from Hong Kong Baptist University. After that, he was selected into Jinma Film Academy and talent training camp in Berlin.

In 2012, he was the screenwriter of the short love film 0.36 seconds, directed by Jin Huiyan. In 2014, he directed his first short film winter gaze. In 2015, he wrote and directed the short story "Gaofu town" co starred by Chen Jiawei and Chunxia; in the same year, he co directed the short story "Haiphong a Zai" with Qiu Yang and Li Yongchao.

In 2016, he wrote and directed the short drama thunder and lightning; in the same year, he worked as the photographer of the short drama about them. In 2018, he directed his first film, suburban birds, which tells the story of a group of primary school students in the suburbs of Hangzhou set out to look for lost playmates, and a team of engineers also came here to investigate the land subsidence incident. He was shortlisted for the Golden Leopard award of contemporary filmmaker in the 71st International Film Festival of Locarno, and won the best feature film award in the 12th first youth film exhibition Best director award of the 12th first youth film exhibition.

In 2019, he and Xu PENGYUAN and Wei Bingxin co directed the documentary "reading poetry in spring 6"; in the same year, he directed the love short film "love without words" co starred by Li Hongqi and Zhu yanmanzi. In 2020, he co directed the documentary "Wuhan special collection of poetry in spring" with LANBO, and in the same year, he wrote and directed the short story "dog father". In 2021, the director's film suburban birds will be shown in cinemas.
