Chen Kaiming, male, born in October 1939 in Yuechi, Sichuan Province, is an associate professor of Qiandongnan normal college for Nationalities in Guizhou Province. He has studied calligraphy since childhood and studied under his Uncle Chen Junjie. He has taught in Jianhe middle school and Qiandongnan normal college for nationalities, including some calligraphy courses. He has been an associate professor since 1987.

He has been studying calligraphy for a long time in his spare time, and has made some achievements. He is now the vice president of the new century calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of China. Since 1994, some of his works have been published, participated in exhibitions, and won prizes in competitions at home and abroad. He has also been selected and collected by relevant state departments and academic organizations, as well as in Akita City, Japan. For example, his first work "calligraphy high parallel poem in summer" was published in "calligraphy art" (1994.4), which was also included in "1996 calligraphy and painting appreciation calendar"; running calligraphy self inscription sentence was included in "Lei Feng Song calligraphy and painting ceremony", which won the silver prize in the domestic and foreign calligraphy and painting competition celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China. He has successively won the third prize in the first Sino Japanese painting and calligraphy elite Invitational Competition, the third prize in Wuling Cup National Painting and calligraphy competition, the bronze prize in the third international golden goose award painting and calligraphy competition, and the silver prize in China new century painting and calligraphy art exhibition. His works have been selected and collected by the cultural market research center of China Academy of Arts. His works do not lose the essence of tradition, but also pay attention to the aesthetic treatment on the surface, and strive to show the difference of expression, which is highly praised by art circles. He was once introduced to his work "world calligraphy and painting inscription" and was rated as a first-class calligrapher.
