Liu Yu
Liu Yu, character Yuanpu, male, from Beijing. Expert in cultural relic restoration of the Palace Museum, master of calligraphy and seal cutting. Mr. Liu Yu's calligraphy and seal cutting works emphasize tradition, inheritance and development, and "learn from the heart of the ancients, but not from the traces of the ancients". In 1963, he studied with Mr. Jin Yumin, a famous calligrapher and seal cutter. For nearly 40 years, he has been engaged in copying the ancient paintings and seals collected by the Palace Museum. He is the only one who has copied imperial seal, imperial seal, royal seal, official seal, calligraphy and painting seal and collector's seal. He has copied more than 5000 seals for the Palace Museum, and it is difficult to count the number of seals on the copied collections. After years of research, he has made and restored the hard blocks of inkpad that have been stored in the Palace Museum for more than 100 years. On the list of famous teachers published by the China cultural relics restoration Commission in 1993, he is the only one who has witnessed the 60 year history of cultural relics restoration in New China. In the 1970s, the imperial seal, one of the 25 seals collected in the Palace Museum, was copied as a whole. He once administered seals for Marshal Chen Yi, general Ye Fei and others. In 1985, the seal of "the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Palace Museum" was engraved on the first day cover issued by the Ministry of Posts and telecommunications. (October 10, 1985) in October 1987, he was invited to Hong Kong to attend the "ancient Chinese science and Technology Exhibition" in 1988. Since 1990, Liu Yu's works have been published in newspapers and periodicals for many times, and he has also worked for Chinese celebrities (Lu Jiaxi, Luo Gongliu, Chen Shengshen, Shi Shuqing, Zhu Jiazhen, Liu Bingsen, Liao Jingwen, etc.), compatriots from Hong Kong and Taiwan and foreign friends. at the end of 1993, he was awarded the "honorary certificate" of "personnel engaged in cultural relics restoration for 30 years" by the State Administration of cultural relics. In November 1999, he participated in the National Exhibition of calligraphy and painting of public servant style, and his seal cutting and calligraphy works were exhibited in the China Art Museum. In August 2000, seal cutting works were included in the collection of photographic works of calligraphy and painting in celebration of 50 years of Chinese cultural relics edited by the State Administration of cultural relics.
