Meng Jin
Meng Jin (1919-1979), formerly known as Meng Xianwen, was born in Chengguan, Xixian County, Henan Province. He was the Vice Minister of the Training Department of Changsha political cadre school.
In October 1938, he joined the Eighth Route Army and studied in Yan'an Anti Japanese military and Political University. He joined the Communist Party of China in May 1939. In September, he served as the instructor of the front-line drama club. In 1943, he was the propaganda officer of the Political Department of the 12th brigade and 5th regiment of the 3rd column. In August 1945, he served as secretary of the general branch of the Political Department of the Communist Youth League. In 1946, he took part in the Datong campaign. In January 1947, he served as the chief of the organization section of the Political Department of the 12th brigade. In June, he served as political commissar of the first brigade of the 12 brigade school. In February 1948, he served as political commissar of the cadre training team of North China walking school, and led the students to participate in the Pingjin campaign. In January 1949, he served as political commissar of the first detachment of Tianjin picket team. In September, he was transferred to Beijing as deputy director of the Political Department of the first brigade of North China Buxiao. In 1950, he served as political commissar of the first brigade of the military and political Cadre School of the 19th corps of Xi'an. In July 1953, he served as deputy director of the Training Department of Changchun fifth political cadre school. In September 1954, he entered the political and economic class of Beijing University of Marxism Leninism. In September 1955, he served as director of the Department of politics and economics of Nanjing Political normal school and was awarded the rank of lieutenant colonel. In June 1959, he served as the deputy director of the Political Department of Changsha political cadre school. Later, he changed the political department into the training department, and Meng served as the director of the training department (Deputy military level). Meng has been engaged in political education in military academies for many years, and has trained thousands of political cadres for the army. During the "Cultural Revolution", Meng was persecuted by Lin Biao's counter revolutionary group and was brutally attacked. On April 22, 1978, Guangzhou Military Region restored his reputation for Meng Pingfan. he died on June 27, 1979.
