Character evaluation
Lin Cheng Sheng often integrates the daily life experience and historical memory of Taiwanese into films, showing his concern for the people living at the bottom of society. There is a strong humanitarian spirit in his image works. The main scene space is the urban space of Taipei. Through an objective and calm long lens, he shows the mutual collision between industry and agriculture, the integration and opposition between urban and rural areas, and the relationship between people and between people and cities in the society with the deepening process of urban modernization Department. Through the unique image style, it conveys the director's observation and thinking of reality. Although a series of his works adhere to the aesthetic principles of new films, such as non professional actors, autobiographical color, family as the main narrative axis, and discuss the family problems dominated by traditional patriarchy through the conflict between personal growth and external repression, the oppression and torture brought by ethics make the interpersonal relationship in his films in a state of indifference and alienation, which makes the films present a desolate tone However, the interpersonal relationship in his films can't be as faithful to the power of family ethics as Yang Dechang and Hou Xiaoxian (Liang Chenping of Shandong Normal University).
