He entered Jinan Public Security Bureau at the age of 17. By chance, Huang Feng, a smart and studious scholar, found that Shandong express had a simple melody and could bring endless fun to the audience. He begged the storyteller to teach him how to do it. When the other party saw that he was very sincere, he taught Huang Feng his housekeeping skills. After a while, Huang Feng not only became the backbone of literature and art in the unit's party, but also left his shadow in Jinan's big and small theaters. After that, he also paid homage to Shandong kuaishu master Gao Yuanjun.
In 1958, Huang Feng came to Heilongjiang with his Wu Song Da Hu, and did a lot of work for the establishment of Heilongjiang radio rap troupe. In order to make his stories always new, he went deep into his life and spent a lot of time in creation. He successively accepted Guo Donglin, Zong Chengbin, Wu Jiping, Hou Zhendong and others as his disciples.
His Shandong kuaishu performance is delicate, full of emotion, vivid portrayal of characters, good taste, sweet mouth and smooth rhythm. His figure handling is integrated with the performance techniques of Chinese opera, and his old books sing new songs, forming his own unique performance style. Mr. Huang Feng is a new generation of literature and art workers, reform and innovation is his constant artistic pursuit. "Daqing Oilfield" was called "Saertu" before a large number of oil layers were found. After the discovery of oil layers, it became a national great joy. The workers fought, reporters gathered, and literary and artistic workers went deep into life to express their sympathy. During this period, Mr. Huang Feng created a large number of literary works reflecting oil workers. Among them, his lyric "Daqing Zi" is a story about a family naming their children, which has a great repercussion after the performance. When Ouyang Qin, the Secretary of the provincial Party committee at that time, named the oilfield, he said: "when people give birth to children, they are all called 'Daqing Zi'. When we find a big oilfield in the black land, it's like holding a golden baby for the country. I think it's called 'Daqing'. As a result, Daqing has become a well-known place throughout the country and even the world. Mr. Huang Feng and Daqing also formed an indissoluble bond. In order to write a good iron man, Wang Jinxi visited every drilling team in Daqing, interviewed a large number of oil workers, and successively went to Yumen, Yan'an, Karamay, Qaidam, Lenghu and other oilfields which were the earliest developed and hardest in China to give a performance of condolence. In a few years, he created a long Shandong express book, tieshihui, which praises the heroic deeds of oil workers 》。 He was once rated as an advanced worker in Heilongjiang Province and one of the four young pacesetters of China Folk Artists Association. He attended the second National Congress of socialist construction activists held in the Great Hall of the people. He is honored by the oil workers as the "oil field storyteller". From talking about Wusong to singing heroes, Shandong fast book art has made a qualitative leap on the new road.

Over the past few decades, he has created and performed more than 300 pieces of Shandong express books, such as "melting furnace to practice tile", "cutting Luanping at the white chicken banquet", "Miao Xiangyang" and "breeding seedlings". In the late period of the cultural revolution, his short pieces of Shandong express books "injection", "different" and "red soldier send wallet" were widely sung in the whole country, which made up for the lack of new works in Shandong express books in that period. In addition to quyi works, he also created a large number of operas and lyrics. The large-scale Peking Opera "shepherd city" written by him has created a record of more than 280 consecutive commercial performances. Mr. Huang Feng once served as the head of Heilongjiang radio and television troupe, Secretary of the Party committee of Heilongjiang quyi troupe, and vice chairman of Heilongjiang quyi Association.
