On May 31, 2018, Li Jie was removed from the post of ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the people's Republic of China to the Federated States of Micronesia and appointed ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the people's Republic of China to the Republic of Zambia.
