Early experience

In 1979, he studied drama performance in Inner Mongolia Art School. In 1982, he joined Inner Mongolia drama troupe as an actor. In 1985, he applied for the Central Academy of drama, but he failed. In 1988, he was seconded to Inner Mongolia TV station to do field work. He was a non staff member. During this period, he had no salary until he became a regular eight years later.

Acting experience

In 1985, Kang Honglei began to make films.

In 1996, after 12 years as deputy director, he was officially transferred to the production center of Inner Mongolia TV station as director. As a deputy director, he directed such TV series as outlaws of the marsh, Xiaoao lake, swallow Lisan, Oriental businessman and Gouli people.

In 1999, at the age of 37, Kang Honglei directed the TV series "years of passion" independently for the first time.

In 2001, he served as the deputy director of "Xiaoao Lake" starring Li Yapeng and Xu Qing.

In 2003, he co directed 20 episodes of urban drama "Qingyi" with Chen Zhen. In the same year, he also launched a 21 episode TV drama "full of tears", which is adapted from Qi Tiemin's novel "tears flow quietly".

In 2005, he directed the TV series "hit the nail on the head" starring Zuo Xiaoqing and Liu Ye.

In 2008, Kang Honglei's "my head, my regiment" was sold at a high price, ending his "financial crisis". In the same year, he won the best director award of the 24th Golden Eagle Award of China TV for his TV series "soldier assault". And the 20th Venus Award "outstanding contribution award" for military drama.

On February 16, 2009, Jiangsu Satellite TV held the premiere ceremony of "Kang opera is coming" in Nanjing. Kang Honglei, together with Zhang Guoqiang, Ren Chengwei and Huang Bo, the stars of "journey of fantasy" and "my head, my regiment", appeared on the stage. He also declared on the spot that he would not touch the subject of war in 10 years. On June 11, he won the most powerful director award of the 15th Shanghai TV Festival. On September 8, he won the excellent director award of the 27th China TV series flying sky award.

In 2010, he guest starred in the urban love drama Beijing love story starring Chen Sicheng, Zhang Yi, Zhang Xinyi and Tong Liya, playing the director.

In 2011, the TV series "our French years" directed by him was released in CCTV1. In the same year, he directed the TV series "dawn in the wine city".

In 2012, the TV drama "massage" was ready for shooting, and Pu Cunxin, Zhang Guoqiang and other stars were invited. The play was broadcast on CCTV1 on August 15, 2013. In October 2020, he served as a unit director in the biographical drama "meritorious service".

In November 2020, the State Administration of radio, film and television announced that director Kang Honglei will cooperate with screenwriter LAN Xiaolong to shoot the new drama winter and the lion.

Personal life

In October 1986, she married Gong Xiaoning, a Mongolian girl, in Hohhot. In July 1988, Kang Honglei and Gong Xiaoning's daughter Kang Ning was born.
