Hu Xionghua, director of paper-cut film in Shanghai American film factory, studied painting in Zhejiang Art College. He joined Shanghai Art Film Group in 1950 and worked as an animation designer.

Hu Xionghua, director of paper-cut film in Shanghai American film factory, studied painting in Zhejiang Art College. He joined Shanghai Art Film Group in 1950 and worked as an animation designer. He has directed films such as "almost", "waiting for tomorrow", "East China Sea sentinel" (cooperation), "Fox Hunter", "Fox sends grapes" and so on. Fox Hunter won the best art award of Yugoslavia International Film Festival. He died of illness in 1984 at the age of 53.
