Early experience
Yang Ying learned to play table tennis at the age of 6. He joined Jiangsu table tennis team in 1988. He was selected for the national team in 1993. In January 1998, he was transferred back to Jiangsu Province for being three hours late after the Spring Festival holiday. On March 20, 1998, he returned to the national team.
At the end of 2001, Yang Ying left the national team which had been struggling for many years. Soon after, she was invited by a good friend to a financial company in Shenzhen. While learning financial knowledge, Yang Ying also served as the company's image ambassador. In the meantime, Yang Ying also returned to his parent team, Wuxi Shanhe club, several times to play table tennis and make great contributions to the club's successful relegation. After working in that company for half a year, Yang Ying felt that it was not suitable for her, so she went back home. In May 2002, Yang Ying got the news of the enrollment of Beijing Broadcasting University by chance, which aroused her interest. After interview and written examination, Yang Ying stepped into the gate of Beiguang as she wished.
In the fans' impression, Yang Ying, an extrovert, is a typical "tomboy". However, not long ago, she recognized the former national team coach Yao Guozhi and his wife as "parents", which reflects Yang Ying's delicate and tender side. Yao Guozhi once directed Yang Ying for four years, and they formed a deep relationship between master and apprentice. Later, Yao Guozhi's daughter died in a car accident. In the following months, Yao Guozhi and his wife have been immersed in the grief of their daughter's death. At the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese table tennis team, Yang Ying met director Yao and looked at his haggard face. Yang Ying expressed her intention of establishing a father daughter relationship. Yao Guozhi, who was unprepared, did not reply to her. At the beginning of the year, Yao Guozhi was hospitalized because of illness. After learning about this, Yang Ying rushed to the hospital with great strides. After a few days, she has been waiting for director Yao, chatting with him, cooking and massage for him. Seeing Yang Ying in front of him, Yao Guozhi felt that she was more and more like her own daughter. The understanding Yang Ying called out in time: "Dad." "Oh, you are my good daughter!" Excited Yao Guozhi shed tears. Yang Ying lives in his father's house two or three days a week, chatting with them and sometimes going out for a walk. Seeing that mom and dad are back to their usual relaxed and happy smile, the daughter is not to mention happy.
After four years of study, Yang Ying got her degree certificate at the "2002 graduation ceremony of Broadcasting Major" of Communication University of China on June 20, 2006. This is also a table tennis player who has studied hard for four years in university after Liu Wei, Deng Yaping and a few other former national players, and has been officially admitted by CCTV with excellent results. In 2008, he was selected into the "national team of hosts of China's Olympic Games" and served as the commentator of table tennis.
Career
Yang Ying appeared earlier, once known as "Deng Yaping's nemesis" in table tennis. As today's women's table tennis world's first straight fast break player, Yang Ying is bold, fast changing, good at the first three boards, and also good at playing with her brain. Therefore, she made a series of excellent achievements between 1995 and 1999. However, due to the limitations of direct shooting and the problems in training, Yang Ying did not achieve very outstanding results, and failed in the competition of women's team in the 45th World Table Tennis Championships.
In addition, due to the rapid growth of young players in the team, Yang Ying gradually gave up the main position in singles to young players, which on the other hand also prompted Yang Ying to focus on doubles. Both the women's doubles with Sun Jin and the mixed doubles with Qin Zhijian have achieved good results. In 2001 alone, they successively won the women's Doubles Championship of the International Table Tennis Federation Tour Finals, the mixed doubles championship of the 46th World Table Tennis Championships and the 9th National Games.
