Huang Kai
Huang Kai (March 16, 1941 ~ November 24, 2004), formerly known as Huang zhansen, was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. He is a Hong Kong male musician, songwriter, writer, host, singer and actor. He is known as one of the "four talents of Hong Kong" and "three famous speakers of Hong Kong" together with Ni Kuang and Cai Lan.
In 1965, he became the host of "Lidi" TV station and began to work as a film soundtrack. In 1968, he wrote his first song "forget him". In 1973, he wrote a collection of adult jokes. In 1974, paradise, a self-made and self directed film, ranked in the top 10 at the box office in Hong Kong. In 1978, the Cantonese songs "vowing to enter the sword mountain", "killing the Dragon by relying on heaven" and "crocodile tears" were selected as "the first ten Chinese Golden Songs" of RTHK. In 1982, the Mandarin song "my Chinese heart" was released. In 1990, he won the "golden needle Award" at the "13th Hong Kong Top 10 Chinese Golden Melody Award concert"; in the same year, he wrote the theme song "a smile from the sea" for the film "Xiao Ao Jiang Lake", and won the best film episode of the 27th Taiwan Golden Horse Award and the best original film song of the 10th Hong Kong Golden Image Award. In 1994, with the soundtrack of the movie "Butterfly Lovers", he won the best soundtrack of the 14th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1998, he and Gu Jiahui held 29 concerts in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Southeast Asia. In 2003, he wrote the last song of Liang Hanwen's life, love is always there. In 2004, he wrote the last poem of his life, blending, for Zhang Jingxuan.
On November 24, 2004, Huang Kai died at Yan'an hospital, Shatin, Hong Kong, at the age of 63.
Early experience
Born in Guangzhou in 1941, Huang moved to Hong Kong with her parents in 1949. In 1960, he was admitted to the Chinese Department of the University of Hong Kong. During that time, he participated in the dubbing of Li Xianglan's last Mandarin film "one night romance". He graduated in 1963 and taught in Peisheng middle school for two years.
Acting experience
In 1965, Huang Kai became the host of "Lidi" TV station and began to make soundtracks for the films starring Chen Baozhu and Xiao Fangfang. In September of the same year, he entered the advertising department of British American Tobacco Co., Ltd. In 1968, Huang Kai wrote her first song forget him, which was sung by Teresa Teng and included in her Cantonese album.
In 1969, Huang Kai began to write a column. In 1970, he transferred to Huamei advertising company as co creative director. He was the first Hong Kong person to win the Kee o award, the highest honor in American advertising. In 1972, Huang Kai was employed as the general manager of Cathay Pacific advertising company. In the same year, he served as the director of Hong Kong Composers and composers Association.
In 1973, he and his friends founded Baoding film company. In the same year, he wrote a collection of adult jokes. In 1974, paradise, a self-made and self directed film, ranked in the top 10 at the box office in Hong Kong, and was selected as one of the top 10 films by the Taiwan Film Critics Association. In 1976, he and talented woman Lin Yanni founded "Huang and Lin advertising company" and became the chairman of the company.
In 1978, Huang Kai's works "vowing to enter the sword mountain", "killing the Dragon by relying on heaven" and "crocodile tears" were selected as "the first ten Chinese Golden Songs" of RTHK. In 1979, Huang Kai wrote the theme song of the same name "under the lion mountain" for the TV series "under the lion mountain". This song interprets and represents the spirit of the people of Hong Kong. After the release of the song, it has attracted much attention.
In 1982, his single "my Chinese heart" was released. In the lyrics, the beauty of freehand brushwork of traditional Chinese culture was integrated into the theme connotation with national spirit, full of the creator's sincere patriotic feelings. The song won the third God Bell Award from the Song Department of China Music Association. In 1983, Huang Kai and Gu Jiahui wrote songs for TVB martial arts drama "biography of Shooting Heroes": meaningful life, hello all the time, peach blossom blossom, thousand worries about the past, willing to bear love and four cameras.
In 1985, Huang Kai and Gu Jiahui held a concert to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their cooperation. In 1987, Huang Kai wrote three songs for the film "the ghost of a beautiful girl" directed by Cheng Xiaodong, "don't come at dawn" and "the ghost of a beautiful girl" and "Tao". The song "don't come at dawn" won the best film song and best music award of the 7th Hong Kong Film Awards and was shortlisted for the best film episode of the 24th Taiwan Film Awards.
In 1988, Huang Kai wrote the song of the same name "Diary of the great man" for the comedy film "Diary of the great man" directed by Chu Yuan, which was sung by Ye Qianwen, Zhou Runfa and Wang Zuxian. The song was shortlisted for the best film song nomination at the 8th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1990, he won the "golden needle Award" at the "13th Hong Kong Top 10 Chinese Golden Melody Award concert". In 1992, Huang guest star by Stephen Chow, Wu Mengda co starred in the comedy film "truant Weilong 2.". Later, Huang Kai wrote the theme song "men should be self-improvement" for the film "Huang Feihong's two men should be self-improvement", which was sung by Lin Zixiang and won the best film song of the 29th Taiwan Golden Horse Film Award. In 1993, Huang Kai and Lei Songde were nominated for the best film soundtrack of the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards. In the same year, Huang Kai participated in the comedy "Tang Bohu lights autumn fragrance" starring Stephen Chow and Gong Li, in which he played the husband of Tang Bohu's mother's rival, Tai Shi Hua.
In 1994, he was appointed as "Hong Kong affairs consultant" by the State Council and the Hong Kong Branch of Xinhua news agency. He was also an honorary academician of the center for Asian Studies of the University of Hong Kong. In the same year, Huang Kai worked with Hu Weili, Lei Songde and Huang Yinghua as the soundtrack for Tsui Hark's love movie "Butterfly Lovers" and won the best soundtrack of the 14th Hong Kong Film Awards.
In 1998, he and Gu Jiahui jointly held concerts. Up to 2000, they held 29 concerts in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Southeast Asia, breaking the record of concerts held by pure creators. In 2000, Huang Kai won the "cash Golden Sail Music Award" cash Music Achievement Award held by Hong Kong Composers and composers Association.
In 2003, Huang Kai wrote the last song of his life for Liang Hanwen's album "03 four seasons", which was composed by Lin Xi. The song is full of sentimental memories of all kinds of lost world conditions, which has become a rare song for Lin Xi and Huang Kai to cooperate with. In the same year, he held his last concert at the foot of lion mountain in Hong Kong. Huang Kai sang "a smile from the sea" and "the foot of lion mountain". This time, guests gathered, including ye Qianwen, ye Liyi, Zhong Zhentao, Zuo Linyou Li, Zheng Shaoqiu, Zheng Yuling and other stars.
In 2004, Huang Kai won the top ten golden melody awards at the 22nd Golden Melody Awards ceremony. In the same year, he wrote his last poem "blending" for Zhang Jingxuan.

In 1967, Huang Kai married the singer EVA. The next year, his eldest son, Yuhan, was born. In 1973, he gave birth to his second son, Yuwen. In 1976, he gave birth to his daughter, Huang Yushi. In 1976, Huang Kai fell in love with Hong Kong woman writer Lin Yanni. On October 31, 1990, they finally broke up. In 1995, Huang Kai and Chen Huimin married in Las Vegas.
Life in old age
In 2001, when Huang Kai had a physical examination, he found that there was a small tumor in his lung. Later, he received five times of chemotherapy and surgery. He thought he had fully recovered.
On November 24, 2004, he died at Yan'an hospital, Shatin, Hong Kong, at the age of 63.
