Wei Shujun
Wei Shujun, born in Beijing in 1991, is a film director. 2015 graduate student of China Film and Television University majoring in film creation.
In 2016, the director's first work "a thousand floating worlds" was shortlisted in the "window of Asian films" unit of the 20th Busan International Film Festival, becoming the youngest Chinese director to be shortlisted in the Busan Film Festival. In May 2018, the director of Yanbian youth won the Special Mention Award in the short film competition unit of the 71st Cannes Film Festival. In June 2020, the director's feature film "wild horse parting mane" was shortlisted in the 73rd Cannes Film Festival and the 4th Pingyao International Film Exhibition "hidden dragon" unit.
Early experience
Because of an uncle who is a quyi artist and knows some deputy directors, Wei Shujun began to play in films and TV plays at the age of 14.
In 2009, he was admitted to the Department of art, Communication University of China, majoring in audio director. When he was in college, Wei Shujun found the vice directors he had known before, and began to be a field record and vice director.
In 2013, he founded a film and television company to undertake various programs and parties. In 2015, he was admitted to the school of drama, film and television of Communication University of China, majoring in film creation.
Acting experience
In 2004, he took part in the film "network youth" starring Niu Qun and Huang Hong, playing Lan Yang, a computer expert. This film won the outstanding children's cattle film award of the 12th China Film Huabiao award. In 2006, he took part in the emotional drama "Gobi mother" and played Zhong Yang in his childhood. The play won the first prize of "long TV series" in the 7th Golden Eagle Award and the excellent work award of "five one projects" in the 11th spiritual civilization construction.
From 2010 to 2015, he was the director of the documentary "say in the Forbidden City".
In 2016, he directed his debut film "a thousand floating worlds", which was shortlisted in the "window of Asian films" unit of Busan International Film Festival in 2016. With this film, he became the youngest Chinese director in the history of Busan Film Festival. On November 19, 2016, Wang Ziqiang, the leading actor of the film, was recommended by the Organizing Committee of the 8th Australian International Chinese Film Festival.
In 2017, with the script "silent event", he won the outstanding young director film project award of 2017 Wu Tianming youth film summit and a project support fund of 100000 yuan.
In 2018, Yanbian youth won the Special Mention Award in the short film competition unit of the 71st Cannes Film Festival. In April, he wrote the script of wild horse parting mane.
In 2019, he went to Inner Mongolia to shoot the feature film "wild horse parting mane", starring Zhou you and Zheng Yingqi. In June 2020, his directing work "Mustang bristles" was shortlisted in the 73rd Cannes Film Festival and the 4th Pingyao International Film Exhibition "hidden dragon" unit.. In the same year, he created the screenplay white crane's wings.
In January 2021, he directed the feature film "stories of Yong'an town", starring Yang Zishan.
