Chaozhou Zheng
Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, guzheng has gradually spread from the northwest of China to all parts of the country, and blended with local opera, rap and folk music, forming a variety of schools with strong local style.
Traditional Zheng music is divided into North and South schools, and now it is generally divided into nine schools. As Cao Zheng said, "the vast nine schools flow to China". The zheng music and performance methods of each school have their own characteristics.
Chaozhou Zheng of "Hanjiang Sizhu": it is popular in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. Its music structure is special and its spinning method is unique.
Zheng can be different from other musical instruments in its own style. The most important thing is the change of the left hand according to the glide, that is to say, the so-called rhyme complements the sound. Without this, it is difficult to say the genre and development of Zheng music. In Chaozheng, the use of this technique can be said to be very wonderful. In fact, when playing Zheng, we can achieve several scales and modes through the change of the left hand, and the temperament is also different from the twelve average temperament and other local folk music.
Chaozhou Zheng is exquisite, delicate and unique with its fluent and gorgeous right hand and its unique flower playing method of sliding left hand. The main tunes of Chaozhou Zheng are "heavy six", "light six", "live five", "reverse line" and so on. Among them, "heavy six" tune music is more euphemistic; "light six" tune music is clear and bright and fast; "live five" tune music is lingering and sorrowful, and the melody is very characteristic. In the folk, playing ancient music with plucked string instruments such as Zheng is called string poetry. Liu qingniang is the most popular piece of music in this poem. Although it does not belong to the Grand Suite, it includes four tunes: "light six", "heavy six", "live five" and "light three heavy six". The melody is beautiful and has the characteristics of Chaoyue. It is called "string poem mother" in Chaoyue, which means the mother of music.
Liu qingniang is an indispensable repertoire when learning Chaozheng. In addition, such repertoire as Hanya playing in the water, yueergao and icing on the cake are also commonly used in Chaozheng.
