Zhang Hong
Zhang Hong, born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province on April 12, 1988, is a Chinese speed skater. 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic champion. He won the National May 1st Labor Medal, the 16th Heilongjiang Youth May 4th medal and the title of Harbin March 8th red flag bearer pacesetter. Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the 2024 JiangYuanDao Winter Olympics and member of the Athletes Committee of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.
In January 2008, Zhang Hong changed from a short track speed skater to a speed skater. In January 2012, she won the women's short distance all-around champion of speed skating in the 12th National Winter Games; on December 16, she won the second champion of women's 1000m in Harbin World Cup; on December 30, she won the women's 1000m champion of Asian championship. On February 13, 2014, she won the first gold medal in the history of China's speed skating Winter Olympics. Early experience
In 1995, 7-year-old Zhang Hong began to get involved in skating. In 2000, 12-year-old Zhang Hong entered the Harbin team. Zhang Hong's early practice is short track speed skating. On March 9, 2013, in the final of the ISU Speed Skating World Cup, Zhang Hong won the silver medal in the first women's 1000m race.
In January 2014, at the short distance world championships of speed skating held in Nagano, Japan, Zhang Hong skated 38.11 seconds in the first and 38.29 seconds in the second women's 500m race. In the first and second women's 1000m race, Zhang Hong achieved 1:15.17 and 1:15.44 respectively. Finally, after the total score, Zhang Hong won the silver medal of short track speed skating short distance world championships with 151.705 points.
