Early experience
Wang Hao was born in Changchun, Jilin Province on December 1, 1983. Wang Hao's father, Wang Zhongquan, was a die hard fan and loved playing since childhood. Wang Hao has been a beautiful child since childhood. His nickname is "Lele". When Wang Hao was 7 years old, he and his father saw on TV that Changchun children's palace was recruiting children's table tennis students. The coach was Liu Hongqi, the former table tennis teacher of Wang Hao's father. His father immediately brought his son to coach Liu. Coach Liu saw that his quality was good, so he stayed. At that time, it was the time when horizontal board playing was popular. The saying of "straight board playing" was not popular yet. Everyone called the playing method of "ab side" that the opposite side of straight board could also attack. Liu Jiaolian chose this "ab side" playing method for Wang Hao. Although also thought to take some risks, but after more than two months of experiment, we found that Wang Hao not only did not suffer losses in the game, but also took a lot of advantage, so they insisted on it. In 1992, he began to engage in professional training under Xue Ruikun.
Little Wang Hao, who began to learn ball at the age of six and a half, was admitted by Changchun Sports School at the age of 10. At that time, only students who graduated from junior high school were qualified to enter the city sports school, while Wang Hao was in the third grade of primary school.
In 1996, he joined the Bayi team, coach Jing Yude. In 1996, Wang Hao, who was under 13 years old, took part in the national youth competition on behalf of Changchun City and won the third place in the men's team. In that year, a club in Zhuhai took a fancy to Wang Hao's potential and offered quite favorable conditions to invite him to join. However, after careful consideration, father Wang Zhongquan declined the club's invitation. Wang Hao's father Wang Zhongquan declined all the invitation and sent Wang Hao to the Bayi team with Wang Tao, Liu Guoliang and other strong players.
Sports career
begin to display one 's talent
At the end of 1998, Wang Hao was selected into the second national team, and at the beginning of 1999, he was promoted to the first national team. In 2002, Wang Hao won the men's singles championship in the Egyptian open and ranked among the top 10 in the world. Together with Tim Bohr (Germany) and Zhuang Zhiyuan (Taiwan), Wang Hao is known as the three most potential new stars in table tennis.
Athens frustrated
The 2004 Athens Olympic Games was Wang Hao's first time to participate in the Olympic Games. At that time, Wang Hao, only 21 years old, had become the main force of the Chinese team. In the men's singles table tennis competition, Wang Hao played a triumphant song all the way and met his teammate Wang Liqin in the semi-final. Before that, Wang Hao had ten battles against Wang Liqin and lost ten times. Only Yadian Wang Hao defeated Wang Liqin and entered the final. The final opponent was South Korea's Liu Cheng, who defeated Lao wa Min. As the heaviest men's singles champion of table tennis in the Olympic Games, the eyes of the Chinese people at that time were fixed on the young man in his early 20s. With Wang Hao's strength, many Chinese naturally put the gold medal into the Chinese team's bag ahead of time, because before the Olympic Games, Wang Hao and LIU Chengmin played several times, and Wang Hao won by absolute advantage.
After the start of the final, Wang Hao was obviously burdened with the desire to win and the fear of losing, while LIU Chengmin, contrary to the normal situation, used a very fighting tactic to beat Wang Hao and win the first game. In the second inning, Wang Hao began to lose power. After a pause, he won the second inning with difficulty. In the third and fourth innings, Wang Hao was somewhat conservative in the key score, while LIU Chengmin's fighting tactics repeatedly worked. After LIU Chengmin won two more innings, Wang Hao was 1-3 behind and forced into a desperate situation. Wang Hao had a bad start in the fifth inning. He was overpowered by his opponent in momentum. His mistakes were still constant and the score was gradually surpassed by his opponent. However, he then tenacious to catch up with the score, in the 11:11 draw, he even got two points to pull back a game. In the sixth inning, Wang Hao led 2-0 and was successively scored four points by the opponent. Although he struggled to get the score to 9-9, he was still scored two points in a row by his opponent. The total score was fixed at 4:2, and LIU Chengmin won the championship.
thoroughly to remould oneself
The Athens Olympic Games has become a huge obstacle to Wang Hao's table tennis career. Since then, he suffered from "fear of finals". Every time, he can reach the final with his own strength, but when it comes to the final, he becomes out of his mind and in a trance. He lost to Wang Liqin in the final of the 10th National Games in 2005.
Wang Hao won the second place in four major events in a row, and some media called him "the second of the Millennium". After several years of hard work, Wang Hao has finally been transformed. In November 2006, at the Doha Asian Games, he defeated his teammate Ma Lin and won the first prize at one stroke. Then, in the finals of the world professional tour held in November, he won the crown again, and the winter of 2006 became Wang Hao's harvest season.
In 2007, he won the men's singles third place and men's doubles second place in the world table tennis championships, the men's team and men's singles champion in the world cup, the men's singles champion in Slovenia, the men's doubles champion in Croatia (with Ma Lin), the men's singles Men's doubles champion in Shenzhen, the men's singles second place and men's doubles champion in Nanjing, the men's singles champion and men's doubles runner up in Japan, the men's team, men's singles champion and men's doubles runner up in the Asian Championships.
Fighting for the Olympics again
In 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, in the men's singles final, he lost to Ma Lin 1:4, and missed the gold medal of men's singles in the Olympic Games for two consecutive times. In the final, Wang Hao's start was not smooth, Ma Lin used the changeable ball to win the first two games in a row, forcing Wang Hao to a more dangerous situation. Entering the third game, Wang Hao found his best state at this time and successfully pulled back the first game. However, at this time, Wang Hao's psychology fluctuated again. In the fourth game, he appeared to be conservative at the beginning stage. Ma Lin took the opportunity to open the score. When Wang Hao wanted to fight again to reverse the situation of the game, Ma Lin had firmly grasped the main position It's in your own hands. In the fifth inning, Wang Hao's psychology has basically collapsed, and Ma Lin finally won the game 4-1 and took the champion.
In the men's team final, Wang Hao won the men's table tennis team championship with his teammates Ma Lin and Wang Liqin, and won the first Olympic gold medal.
Career peak
After the Olympic Games, Wang Hao was not depressed for a long time, and immediately won the world cup, which is also the first competition in the inorganic era. Wang Hao proved his undoubted strength. Wang Hao won the grand champion cup in early 2009, and the two gold medals of men's singles and men's doubles in Yokohama World Table Tennis Championships symbolize that Wang Hao has become a well deserved leader of Chinese men's table tennis.
2009 is Wang Hao's year. The two most important singles competitions in this year, the men's singles of the world table tennis championships and the men's singles of the National Games, were won by Wang Hao. But since then, Wang Hao's state has declined rapidly. Since he lost to Boer in the Eurasian match in November, he has lost to foreign players for six times in less than half a year, and has been severely criticized by head coach Liu Guoliang.
In 2010, Wang Hao's condition still didn't improve. He didn't win a singles championship and didn't play as well in the trial in Moscow. It was only when he got the upper hand in the PK match with two veteran players, Ma Lin and Wang Liqin, that he got the chance to participate in the World Table Tennis Championships. Wang Hao's performance in the World Table Tennis Championships was tepid and unpopular. He didn't get the chance to play in the final. For Wang Hao, this is undoubtedly an unsatisfactory World Table Tennis Championship.
But at the end of the world cup, he finally began to rebound. After passing all the way, he joined up with his teammate Zhang Jike, and finally Wang Hao defeated Zhang Jike 4-1 in the final to win the championship for the third time. In 2011, Wang Hao's condition is still stable, but in the Rotterdam World Table Tennis Championships and the world cup, he was twice defeated by his teammate Zhang Jike in the final, making the latter's one-year double crown.
Battle in London
In 2012 London Olympic Games, compared with previous Olympic Games, only two singles qualifications were confirmed one year in advance. On June 7, 2011, the table tennis and badminton center of the General Administration of sport of the people's Republic of China held a media conference on the afternoon of June 7, announcing the confirmation of the list of male and female players proposed by the International Table Tennis Federation who can directly obtain the qualification for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Wang Hao and Zhang Jike of the men's team and Li Xiaoxia and Ding Ning of the women's team respectively entered the top place by virtue of their respective positions in the latest world rankings
