Su Cheng
Su Cheng, male, Han nationality, was born in 1968 in Chaoyang, Guangdong Province. He is a doctor of engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor of School of civil engineering and transportation, South China University of technology, and Dean of School of civil engineering and transportation.
Character experience
In 1990, he graduated from South China University of technology with a bachelor's degree in engineering mechanics; in 1993, he graduated from South China University of technology with a master's degree in structural mechanics; in 1997, he graduated from South China University of technology with a doctor's degree in structural engineering. From 1993 to 1994, he was engaged in structural design and engineering supervision in Shenzhen Architectural Design Institute. In July 1994, he was transferred to the Department of Architectural Engineering (now the Department of Civil Engineering) of South China University of technology to engage in teaching and scientific research. From 1998 to 2002, he went to the Department of civil engineering of the University of Hong Kong three times for cooperative research. He was promoted to Professor in March 2004, and was approved as doctoral supervisor in the same year. From 2008 to 2017, he was the dean of School of civil engineering and transportation, South China University of technology. Currently, he is assistant to the president of South China University of technology, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of subtropical architecture science, director of the Key Laboratory of wind engineering in Guangdong University, and head of the discipline team of "structural disaster prevention and mitigation calculation theory and health monitoring".

In 2010, he won the Frederick Palmer award from the British Society of civil engineers. in 2000, he was rated as "excellent teacher of Guangdong Province in south Guangdong Province", in 2017, he won the special prize of the eighth school level teaching achievement award of South China University of technology, and the first prize of Guangdong education and Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education) in the same year.
