From the beginning, she didn't expect to be a singer. The classical music education in childhood seems to be natural, because all the children around are learning musical instruments, Yangqin, guzheng, erhu, Pipa... Southern China is surrounded by the strong sound of silk and bamboo in Jiangnan. Therefore, guzheng was brought into her childhood life, and she fell in love with this ancient Chinese musical instrument.

And she seems to be full of spirituality for this simple and remote musical instrument. As a young girl, she became famous as a talented girl of guzheng, so she was favored by a British Chinese company and started a long two-year tour in Europe. In Europe, Xiaoya did not hear the music completely different from that in China, and her heart was greatly shocked. This experience abroad also played a turning role in her music style in the future. Later, she participated in the "BMW" music fusion project of the British composer Mr. Jiang Li, and became a member of the British Council on the recommendation of Jiang Li. As a zither player, she recorded many experimental and research fusion music works.

After returning to China, Yawei was still obsessed with the passionate music expression in Europe and America, so he formed an electroacoustic band and named it "Wei band". From then on, she began to try her own singing and writing, recording her attitude towards life, analysis of society and understanding of life with music and singing. And her guzheng playing style has also undergone tremendous changes, from the center of the skills to the fitness with the works, with the most simple and clear notes to meet the needs of modern music.
