Cao Guifen

Cao Guifen (June 1938 may 2019), female, Han nationality, born in Dengzhou, Henan Province, is a representative inheritor of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects, a famous guzheng performer, a member of China Musicians Association, one of the successors of Henan Zheng school, and a former first-class actor of Henan Quju troupe.

Character experience

The daughter of Cao Dongfu, the late master of Zheng music of Cao school in Henan Province, was influenced by her grandfather and father since childhood, so she got the essence of Zheng music of Cao school. In 1954, he began his guzheng playing career and worked as a guzheng player in the Quju opera of Kaifeng City, Henan Province.

Cao Guifen, the representative inheritor of the provincial intangible cultural heritage project, got the biography of his father Cao Dongfu and mastered a large number of traditional repertoire of Zhongzhou Zheng school. And in the inheritance of Zhongzhou Zheng school's style performance level, has a deep attainments, in China's contemporary guzheng professional field has a wide range of influence and representativeness. For decades, he has actively participated in various social performances and academic activities, cultivated a large number of young successors of Zhongzhou Zheng school, and made important contributions to the protection and inheritance of Zhongzhou Zheng school.

In 1963, Luo Yuan, Shang Lou and Qu Pai Lian Zou were popular with music fans at home and abroad. Born in a musical family, his father Cao Dongfu is a great master of Chinese music and the founder of Cao school guzheng art. He learned Zheng from his father when he was young, and got the essence of Cao school's Zheng art. He learned many Henan tunes and Qupai with his father, and was good at playing and singing. In 1954, he joined Kaifeng Quju troupe as a zither player. Later, he was once transferred to Kaifeng Peking Opera Troupe and Art Troupe as accompanist and soloist.

In 1978, he was transferred to Henan Quju troupe. His artistic talent has been further developed and fruitful. As early as 1963, when she was only 25 years old, she was invited to participate in the "first national solo recital" and performed three zither pieces: "Chen Xingyuan falls into the courtyard", "going upstairs" and "Qupai ensemble". Chinese record company records Zheng music, which is popular at home and abroad, and has been adopted in Qu Yuan and Guilin landscape films. In 1988, Beijing People's Music Publishing House published her Zheng music "daqiban" and "Qupai Concerto", which were adapted by her and others, and became a popular repertoire in Taiwan. In September 1989, at the invitation of Hugo recording company of Hong Kong, he recorded 21 pieces of Cao Pai Zheng music for him, made CDs and tapes in Japan, and distributed them at home and abroad.

In October 1990, he was invited to participate in the guzheng performance of the four schools of the north and the South sponsored by the Hong Kong Urban Council, and was produced and distributed by Hugo. In December of the same year, at the invitation of Hong Kong Fengyi record company, he recorded 13 pieces of Cao Paizheng music.

In January 1991, Henan TV Station shot a special topic of Guzheng Fu for her, and CCTV replayed a glimpse of China, which was sent to Japan, the United States, Canada and other eight countries for exchange. In the spring of 1994, at the invitation of Taiwan, she performed and lectured in Taiwan, and received exclusive interviews from four radio stations and "CCTV" audio and video recordings. She was also recorded 14 pieces of Cao Paizheng music by Pacific record company, and published CDs and tapes. In the spring of 1995, she was videotaped and recorded by Henan and Zhengzhou TV stations. After production, she was shown in the golden time "art space" and "art sea". In May of the same year, she was invited to record for Taiwan again.

In 2018, he was invited to receive a special interview with the column "cultural wealth" of Henan TV station.

Achievement and honor

Since 1984, Henan radio station and Zhengzhou radio station have recorded 53 pieces of Zheng music of Cao school for her. In addition to producing 7 music topics, they have also produced many group Zheng music for regular broadcasting. Among them, three music topics recorded by Zhengzhou radio station for her were exchanged with other places, which were broadcast on more than 200 radio stations across the country. The school has distinctive characteristics and rich local color, which is well received by all over the world. Henan TV station, Henan radio station and Zhengzhou literature and art radio station filmed and recorded special topics for her, which won awards in the provincial and above awards.

Over the past few decades, she has accompanied more than 50 traditional or modern dramas and performed solo for many times. She has a high level of performance and artistic charm. She has provided music for many films, including Qu Yuan, Guilin landscape, Chen San Liang, Feng Xue Pei and so on. He has recorded many special programs of Henan Zheng music for provincial and municipal radio stations and made national broadcasting. His Zheng music "Qupai LianZuo" and "daqiban" were compiled in "guzheng collection" by people's music publishing house.
