Ju Xiufang
Ju Xiufang, born in 1934, is a soprano. Jiangsu people, origin Jingjiang. He studied vocal music in the music group of Art Education Department of National Institute of social education and Shanghai Conservatory of music. He studied under Jiang, Hong Daqi and Su Shilin, and was taught by Zhou Xiaoyan and Ding Xicai. He is good at singing Yulin ditty. He won the prize in the vocal music competition of the sixth World Youth Festival. Ju Xiufang once sang for Chen Sisi who plays Qiuxiang in the Hong Kong Great Wall drama comedy Sanxiao (1964). Her singing is very beautiful and wonderful.

In the sixth World Youth Festival folk song competition held in Moscow in 1957, Ju Xiufang, with modern scientific vocal skills, perfectly interpreted the charm of traditional Chinese folk songs such as "five brothers herding sheep", "ZOUXIKOU" and "orchid flower". She stirred the heartstrings of all audiences again and again and won the gold medal, becoming the first Jingjiang singer to win the gold medal in the international competition. Ju Xiufang, female, was born in March 1934 in jujiadai, Shengci town. She grew up in Suzhou with her parents. Influenced by his mother since childhood, he loved singing and was familiar with many Jiangnan folk tunes. In 1949, Ju Xiufang was admitted to the music group of the Art Education Department of Suzhou National Institute of social education and began to study vocal music. The next year, she was admitted to the Vocal Music Department of Shanghai Conservatory of music for nationalities. Since then, she began her arduous exploration in her artistic career. With the support and encouragement of president He Luting, Professor Zhou Xiaoyan and Mr. Ding Xicai, Ju Xiufang made great efforts to explore the art of national vocal music. Finally, with the first Yulin ditty "five brothers herding sheep", which was made in 1954, Ju Xiufang gave people a new artistic experience of folk songs and was widely praised and affirmed. At the first national music week held in Beijing in 1956, Ju Xiufang's "going west" was again well received and won the title of outstanding young singer. From 1956 to 1958, during her postgraduate study, Ju Xiufang absorbed nutrition from classical opera, literature and Guqin string songs, constantly improved her artistic accomplishment, and gradually formed her own unique artistic style of integrating national cultural tradition and modern scientific sound production methods. She was not only a teacher, but also innovative and unconventional. She became the first person to be trained by music universities in New China A singer who sings folk songs. In 1958, Ju Xiufang began to engage in vocal music teaching, participated in the preparatory work of national and folk singing major of Shanghai Conservatory of music, later served as the head of teaching and research group of national vocal music major and deputy director of vocal music department, accumulated rich experience and made positive contributions to the teaching of national vocal music. Ju Xiufang is currently a professor of Vocal Music Department of Shanghai Conservatory of music, a member of China Musicians Association and a director of Shanghai Musicians Association. for decades, Ju Xiufang has devoted herself to the innovation and development of national vocal music, and her achievements have been affirmed by experts and peers at home and abroad. Her name and achievements have been included in many literature materials, such as the musician's Handbook, the Chinese musician's dictionary, and the world's Chinese literature and art celebrities. Hundreds of Chinese national vocal music works collected, arranged, adapted and sung by Ju Xiufang are a precious spiritual wealth she has dedicated to people, leaving a long aftertaste.
