There are various forms of Chinese drum dance, which are widely distributed. There are many kinds of dances. Among them, the more typical forms are waist drum dance, broken drum dance, flower drum dance, wood drum dance, long drum dance, flat drum dance, copper drum dance, dragon drum dance, fan drum dance, yellow mud drum dance, elephant foot dance, monkey drum dance, flower whip dance, bamboo drum dance, Bell Dance, sheep skin dance and so on.

Shanghe county is located in the Lubei Plain of Shandong Province, 35 kilometers away from the Yellow River in the south, Huimin County in the East, Leling City in the north and Linyi County in the West. During the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, brothers Wang Lili and Wang Liyi of Shanghe went to Beijing to perform arts. They learned how to dance with flower whip and went back home to practice hard. Later, Wang Lili brothers taught the local people the art of flower whip dance, which has been handed down to this day. At present, Huabian dance is very popular in Zhangfang township of Shanghe county. The Zhang family in Goujia village of Zhangfang township can dance Huabian dance for generations and perform it every Spring Festival, which is very lively.

Huabian dance performance uses the general waist drum, accompanied by gongs and cymbals. The dancer wears a white towel on his head, a short dress, a waist drum under his left flank, and a whip in both hands. The whip is 22 cm long and 50 cm long. The tip of the whip is tied into a knot. During the performance, the two whips fly up and down, swing to the back, hit the drum face accurately in front of the chest and under the crotch, whips fly and drum, unique and fascinating. Huabian dance has more than 30 movements, such as the first eight steps, the second eight steps, the kite turning over, the carp jumping over the dragon's gate, the ancient tree packing, Zhang Fei deceiving the horse, Su Qin carrying the sword, er long spitting his beard, the golden gourd, the chrysanthemum covering the top, the black dog drilling the crotch, and the eighteen rolling on the spot. During the performance, Huabian dance like a Golden Snake, dazzling and dazzling; the drum sound is like a galloping horse, inspiring and emotional upsurge.

Huabian dance is full of local color in northern Shandong, which has the research value of history and culture, folklore, dance and so on. In recent years, the inheritance of this folk dance has fallen into a dilemma, the development prospect is worrying, and it is in urgent need of protection.
