Lusheng dance, also known as "stepping on Lusheng" and "stepping on song hall", is named for its accompaniment and self blowing and self dancing. It is popular in Guizhou, Guangxi, Hunan, Yunnan and other places where Miao, Dong, Buyi, Shui, Gelao, Zhuang, Yao and other ethnic groups live together. It is the most popular and widely distributed folk dance of southern ethnic minorities. According to the unearthed figurines of Lusheng music and dance in the Western Han Dynasty, Lusheng dance has a history of more than 2000 years. Lusheng dance is mostly performed in festivals, gatherings, celebrations and other festive moments, mainly including self entertainment, competition and etiquette.

Jinji dance originated in Paidiao Town, Danzhai County, Guizhou Province, and spread in Miao villages such as Paidiao, yegai, Jiapei, dangzao, maniao, Yangxian, Yanggao, Yahui, Songlong in Yahui township. It is said that the ancestor of the Miao nationality lived in the eastern Great Plain. Later, he moved to a beach called "zhan'ao DuiShe" and came to Danzhai County along the river due to the flood. After settling down in Danzhai County, the ancestors of the Miao people opened fields and hunted for food. Because the golden pheasant helped them to get millet seed and help them through the famine, the golden pheasant became their lucky star. So they dressed themselves up like the golden pheasant, and danced Lusheng dance to imitate the courtship gait of the golden pheasant.

Jinji dance is the main form of Miao people's ancestor worship activities held every 12 years. Jinji dance is often performed in the process of folk wedding, welcome etiquette and young men and women's "moon dance". Jin Ji Dance is accompanied by Lusheng. During the performance, all the women are dressed up like beautiful Jin Ji, with their hair curled high, their heads decorated with Jin Ji silver ornaments, embroidered ultra short pleated skirts, a full set of silver collar bracelets and embroidered shoes on their feet. The male plays the Lusheng as the lead, the female then dances, forms a line, along the counter clockwise direction turns the circle to dance. With the rhythm of Lusheng melody, the silver ornaments of the golden pheasant on the women's heads are ready to fly, the silver horn crown is shaking, the flowers on the legs are floating and flashing, and the white feathers on the feet of the pleated skirt are flying. In the dancing, the dancers walk lightly, just like the golden pheasant is hunting for food. The basic features of the dance are three, four and seven steps, mainly four steps, six step turn, and the natural shaking of the waist and knee. With each step, the dancer's knees vibrate forward naturally at the same time, with more lower limb movements and less upper limb movements. When there are a lot of people, Lusheng hands play and dance in a circle in the middle, while women dance in a circle outside. There are more than 100 Lusheng tunes in the folk Jinji dance, which is light, smooth and beautiful.

Jinji dance shows the gentle and quiet character of the Miao people, reflects the harmonious and friendly mental state between man and nature, highlights the ancient and gorgeous aesthetic pursuit of the Miao people, and is a brilliant mountain flower in folk dance.
