Introduction to Xianzi dance (Mangkang Xianzi dance)
Applicant: Tibet Autonomous Region
Xianzi, also known as "Xie", "Ye" and "Baye", is a unique Tibetan huqin, which is usually played by men. Xianzi dance, also known as "Xianzi", is a comprehensive Tibetan song and dance art that integrates song, dance and music with the accompaniment of instrument Xianzi. Xianzi dance is distributed in eastern Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai and other Tibetan areas. During the performance, men pull strings and women dance colorful sleeves. With the change of string rhythm, the singing and dancing styles are varied. Most of the lyrics of Xianzi are welcome, meeting, praise, affection, farewell and wish; there are many tunes, rich lyrics and changeable dance steps. During the dance, the male and female dance teams form a half circle, sometimes gather round, sometimes disperse, and sing and dance; men's dancing posture focuses on dancing boots and stamping feet, showing the beauty of bold and bold; women highlight the beauty of long sleeves stretching gently.
Mangkang county is located in the southeast of Tibet, at the junction of Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Xianzi dance is a kind of folk song and dance in this area. It uses Xianzi as an accompaniment instrument. Men and women gather together to dance and sing with the music. Mangkang Xianzi dance is also called "Tibetan harmonizing Qiang" in Tibetan language. The Tibetan language is Tibetan, "harmonizing" is singing and dancing, and "Qiang" is dancing. Xianzi, known as "biwang", is an erhu invented by local people, which is called "huqin" in historical books. Xianzi dance has a long history in Mangkang County of Changdu. According to research, Xianzi dance appeared in Mangkang in Tang Dynasty.
Xianzi dance is the only unique folk song and dance in Mangkang. Every festival, people get together and dance with one or more men who are playing the piano and dancing frequently. The dance is flexible, unrestrained and fluent, with dragging step, turning step, shaking sleeve and shaking step. The long sleeve flying is the most characteristic. The dancers shake with the string music and emit bursts of "trembling sound", and the corresponding dance movements produce "trembling method". These movements are mostly characterized by simulating some kind and auspicious animal posture movements, including "peacock absorbs water", "rabbit runs happily" and so on. There are many schools with regional characteristics in Mangkang Xianzi, such as the dignified and steady Yanjing Xianzi dance, the elegant Xuzhong Xianzi dance, the more difficult and relaxed sodosi Xianzi dance, and the free and open qudeng Xianzi dance. Under the clear and tactful sound of the piano, the string dance teams, whether they gather and disperse, line up to make a detour, or raise their sleeves to rotate, all reflect the rich cultural connotation and aesthetic content.
Nowadays, string dance in Mangkang has become an important form of entertainment for the Tibetan people. Every festival, the 16 townships (towns) in Mangkang have to carry out a variety of literary and artistic activities focusing on string dance. These activities enrich and activate the spiritual and cultural life of the masses, improve their cultural quality, and enhance their love for their motherland and hometown. Mangkang Xianzi dance has a long history, ancient magic, unique form, strong national temperament, rich plateau characteristics, more schools, complete performance system, and its singing and dancing tradition is precious.
