Introduction to Yangko (yuetingdi Yangko)
Applicant: leting County, Hebei Province
Leting "diyangge" is a traditional folk dance with wide spread, long history, rich content and lively form in leting county.
Letingdi Yangko is divided into "Dachang Yangko" and "Dachang Yangko". Before the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, it was mainly the Dachang Yangko in running formation. During the reign of emperor Xuantong, the Dachang Yangko gradually increased. Dachang Yangko has two forms of "Chuanjie" and "Dachang". Yangko is performed along the streets and alleys. It has simple movements, pays attention to the overall effect, and has a warm and prosperous atmosphere. The accompaniment cards generally use gentle medium board, and the commonly used formations are "one dragon", "two dragons come out of the water", "two steps up the building", "weaving flower village", etc. Playing Yangko is performed in the square, which can be divided into "big field" and "small field". "Dachang" is basically the same as "Chuanjie"; and "Xiaochang" is also known as "xiaochuzi", which mainly performs the programs with story plot, such as "big head monk teases Liu Cui", "curium VAT", "silly pillar meets daughter-in-law" and so on. The Yangko troupe can be divided into Wenchou, wuchou, wengongzi, wugongzi, Niu (girl, young woman), Wen (wife), Wu (old man) and boy.
The movements of yuetingdi Yangko are rich and colorful, with fans and handkerchiefs as props. Over the years, Yangko artists have created very rich and beautiful movements of dancing fans and silk, as well as outstanding footwork and dancing postures such as "Qiao bu", "Tan bu", "Shan Yao", "around the shoulder", "turn around", "bump and nod".
The tacit cooperation of dance and music is the prominent feature of Yueting Yangko. The commonly used accompaniment instruments are suona drum, cymbal, etc.
In the old society, "diyangko" was denounced as "vulgar skill" by the upper class, which was strictly prohibited for several times, seriously hindered the development of Yangko art. After liberation, this kind of popular traditional dance was revived and developed.
