The Buddhist music of Lengyan temple in Zuoyun County was spread in Zuoyun and Liangcheng County of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It was originally an East Road School of fanbei tune in northern China. With the monks' Sutra singing and Buddhist activities, it was produced and sung in the early Ming Dynasty, enriched and developed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the long-term spread process, it absorbed the elements of Tianzhu music, Qiuci music, Anguo music and other Buddhist music, and combined with local folk music, gradually formed a kind of temple music with Mongolian and Han characteristics and exotic customs.
The temple music of Lengyan temple is composed of two parts: praise song and instrumental music.
