Introduction to folk songs of Lujiahe
Applicant: Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province
Lvjiahe folk songs are popular in Lvjiahe village, Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province, where almost every family has singers all over the village. Lvjiahe is located at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Shaanxi provinces. It is deeply influenced by Bachu culture, Qin Chu culture and Daoist culture. Therefore, folk songs have formed distinctive characteristics in the process of spreading.
Lvjiahe folk song has a long history, which was widely spread as early as king Xuan of Zhou Dynasty. It can be divided into Yangge, Yinge and long narrative poems. Now more than 5000 Lvjiahe folk songs have been collected, and 79 tunes have been recorded. Yin song, also known as "filial piety song", "funeral song" and "song of waiting for the dead", can be divided into four parts: Song head, song of persuading the good, song of turning over the ridge of the field and song of returning to the sun. It is specially used for funerals and is usually sung at night, so it is also called "night Gong and drum". In addition to Yin songs, other folk songs are called "Yang songs". Yang songs are closely connected with daily customs, which can be divided into festive songs, lantern songs, wine songs, birthday songs, labor songs, children's songs and so on. The long narrative poem is a kind of singing book with story plot. Its main works include "long San Jie's birthday", "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", "Qin Xuemei's filial piety" and so on. These songs can be sung as Yang songs or Yin songs as long as the melody is changed. According to preliminary statistics, there are more than 15 long narrative poems in Lvjiahe.
In the folk songs of Lujiahe, the dominant mode is Zheng mode, followed by Gong mode. The melody is mainly composed of pentatonic scale, while the opera tune and other very few folk songs are composed of hexatonic scale. Although there are two kinds of "three tones" of "Zheng - Yu - Gong" and "Zheng - Gong - Shang" in Zheng mode, and "Gong - Jiao - Zheng" as the backbone tone in Gong mode, it is not very obvious. In the aspect of musical structure, Lvjiahe folk songs are characterized by three sentence style, and the number of works of three sentence style and four sentence style is roughly the same. The representative works of LV Jiahe's folk songs are "making the fifth watch" and "standing on the flower wall".
The folk songs of Lujiahe, which blend the north and the South and gather the East and the west, have a wide range of contents, diverse genres, rich singing and flexible expression. They contain the artistic factors of Qin opera and Chu Music, and present distinctive regional characteristics. They have the research value of Qin Chu culture and Chinese folk music. At present, the development of Lvjiahe folk songs is at a standstill, and its survival is in danger. It is urgent for the relevant parties to take measures to protect it.
