Introduction to Jizhong Sheng wind music
Applicant: Dingzhou City, Hebei Province
Jizhong Sheng wind music is popular in nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin and north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is a unique type of percussion music in Jizhong plain. It is commonly known as "concert" among the people. It is also known as "Sheng wind music" because it is mainly played by Guan and Sheng. In addition to Sheng, pipe, flute and other wind instruments, Jizhong Sheng wind instruments also use cloud Gong, drum, cymbal, cymbal, Dangdang and other percussion instruments. The music of Sheng Guan music is divided into three categories: Suite, ditty and independent percussion music. The suite is a major part of the whole playing repertoire because of its long length and complex structure. Jizhong Sheng wind music is spread all over the whole Jizhong plain. Farmers in this area take the village as a unit to perform in local folk activities such as sacrifice and funeral, and inherit it from generation to generation in their own unique way.
Blowing song is one of the folk instrumental music forms in Hebei Province. It is a combination of playing and blowing. It is developed from ancient drum music and Qing Dynasty naoge music. It has been more than 200 years since the song Blowing party in Ziwei town of Dingzhou, Baoding city was the outstanding representative of this instrumental music playing form.
Ziwei song Blowing band includes Guanzi, suona, Sheng, flute, haicone (commonly known as "Lama Hao"), Dahu, drum, xiaocymbal, gongs, Bangzi and other musical instruments, with Guanzi (small pipe) and xiaosuona as the main instruments. The composition of the whole band can be increased or decreased according to the specific situation, forming a variety of different combinations. The performance forms of Ziwei's blowing songs include sitting on the stall and marching. Sitting on the stall means playing on the field, and the band sits around the table or in horizontal rows. They usually play with two Sheng, two pipe, two suona plus gongs, cymbals and drums. Marching means stepping on the street. In the arrangement of the band, the cloud Gong is in the front, and the flute, Sheng, suona, drum, cymbal, Dang and cymbals are in the back. The performance is fast, the melody is changeable, the voice is loud and sonorous, the style is warm and hot, and it is full of artistic appeal.
There are many kinds of songs about Ziwei's blowing, such as traditional folk songs, local opera singing and folk instrumental music. Among them, the representative repertoire includes Fanglu, Dazao, chaotianzi, jasmine, wannianhuan, yizhihua, etc. In the early days of the founding of new China, musicologists Yang Yinliu and Cao Anhe recorded Ziwei's musical instruments and music, sorted out and published the collection of Ziwei village music in Dingxian County, which included 34 pieces of music and had a wide influence at home and abroad.
They are good at learning and absorbing all kinds of folk tunes, local opera tunes and their performing skills. Their performances are free and exaggerated, not stick to one style, and even sing and dance while playing. They have a strong local flavor and distinctive folk art style. Ziwei chuige has been passed on from generation to generation, and has cultivated a large number of excellent instrumental talents. Ziwei blowing songs, with the content of traditional folk songs and modern songs, is a typical representative of folk blowing music in central Hebei Province, which has high artistic and historical research value. In the mid-1990s, the talent of Ziwei's songs was out of stock and the material materials were lost. The inheritance of Ziwei's songs was in a dilemma. It is urgent for the relevant government agencies to carry out systematic and comprehensive rescue, protection, sorting and excavation as soon as possible.
