Jizhongsheng wind music (lidongzhuang Music Conference)
Applicant: Wen'an County, Hebei Province
Jizhong Sheng wind music is popular in nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin and north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is a unique type of percussion music in Jizhong plain. It is commonly known as "concert" among the people. It is also known as "Sheng wind music" because it is mainly played by Guan and Sheng. In addition to Sheng, pipe, flute and other wind instruments, Jizhong Sheng wind instruments also use cloud Gong, drum, cymbal, cymbal, Dangdang and other percussion instruments. The music of Sheng Guan music is divided into three categories: Suite, ditty and independent percussion music. The suite is a major part of the whole playing repertoire because of its long length and complex structure. Jizhong Sheng wind music is spread all over the whole Jizhong plain. Farmers in this area take the village as a unit to perform in local folk activities such as sacrifice and funeral, and inherit it from generation to generation in their own unique way.
Lidongzhuang Music Association is popular in lidongzhuang village, Wen'an County, Langfang City, Hebei Province. It originated from the temple music of Ming Dynasty. During the Jiajing period, the abbot of Guanyin Temple of lidongzhuang village taught the villagers the Buddhist music. Since then, it has been passed on in the village for more than 500 years.
During the concert, the musicians sit around the long table, the pipe holder is in the middle, and the percussion instruments are played alone. In ensemble, the drum is in the middle, and the players of cymbals, cymbals, dangzi and cymbals sit on both sides of the drummer. When playing Pipa Ling, CI Cao and other Fandiao (also known as "beidiao") music, the change of tune basically does not change the instrument, which is rare in Hebei Province. Since the middle and late Qing Dynasty, the band composition of concerts has not been fixed, generally including 2 pipes, 1 Flute, at least 10 Sheng, 1 Gong, 1 cymbal, drum, cymbal, cymbal, dangzi, etc. The number of Sheng is unlimited. The wind is the main instrument in the instrument, and other instruments are played with the wind. Among percussion instruments, drum dominates other instruments. Among the existing repertoire of lidongzhuang, the major repertoire includes "Da zouma", "Jin Tang Yue", "Si Ji e Lang", "Qing Chui Shan Po Yang", "Guan Gong CI Cao", back tune "Guan Gong CI Cao", "Yu Furong", "Crying City", "asking for military orders", "Zhang Gong chuzi", "Liushui San GUI Zan", etc., while the minor ones include "Shandong song", "dripping money", "Xianzi Ling", "Pi Zi Ling" In addition, they are also called "Pipa Ling" and "Xianzi Ling".
Lidongzhuang old music fair is mainly played in the 15th day of the first lunar month, temple fair celebrations and funerals. It has rich repertoire, complete sets, exquisite musicians and strict inheritance methods. As the concert has been carried out in a relatively closed state, it can be preserved in its original state so far, which provides valuable materials for the study of traditional Buddhist music and folklore in China. Nowadays, the aging phenomenon of lidongzhuang musicians is serious, and the young people are unwilling to learn traditional art. Therefore, the inheritance of concerts has become a major problem, and relevant departments need to take measures to actively protect this traditional folk music.
