Qitai County is located in the northeast of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, between 89 ° 13 ′ - 91 ° 22 ′ E and 43 ° 25 ′ - 45 ° 29 ′ n, adjacent to Mulei County in the East, Turpan city and Shanshan County in the south, jimusar County in the west, Fuyun county and Qinghe County in the north, and Mongolia in the northeast. Daquantatar township is located on both sides of S303 provincial road. It is connected to the 108th regiment of the Sixth Agricultural Division in the East, to the east of Tianshan mountains across Dongwan town in the south, to jimusar County in the West and to Gurbantonggut desert in the north.
Tatar Township in Qitai County is the only ethnic township with Tatar nationality as the main body in China. Tatar nationality has a small population in China. There are 1450 Tatar people in Qitai County, whose livelihood is mainly farming and grazing. "Saban Festival" is a traditional farming festival of Tatar nationality, and also an important part of Tatar folk custom.
After the Tatar people gradually changed from animal husbandry to planting, they changed the original production mode of ploughing and planting crops with shovels, cantumans and ploughshares to the production mode of cultivating crops with ploughshares. In order to celebrate "plowshare", an advanced production tool, the post Tatar people specially use the Tatar pronunciation "Saban" of Plowshare to call this kind of celebration. Over time, this kind of celebration has evolved into a traditional festival of the Tatar people, so "Saban Festival" can also be said to be "plowshare Festival".
Saban Festival is a festival participated by the whole people. It is held from June 20 to 25 every year. The venue is not fixed and there is no special taboo in the process of activities.
Tatar nationality is a cross-border nationality, which is distributed in neighboring countries of Xinjiang. The "Saban Festival" is an encyclopedia of Tatar traditional culture without any religious color. It retains a relatively complete Tatar customs, such as diet, clothing, sports, music, dance, handicrafts, cultural activities and so on. It has distinctive Tatar characteristics. Seasonal order is an important intangible cultural heritage with high historical and cultural value. Academically, "Saban Festival" is of great significance and value to folklore, humanities and sociology, and should be protected and inherited.
