Brief introduction to sainaim (Kuqa sainaim)
Applicant: Kuqa County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
Kuqa sanam is the most popular folk song and dance in the life of Uygur people in Kuqa County, Xinjiang.
Kuqa was called kuci in ancient times, and music and dance flourished since ancient times. Kuche sainaim is elegant, graceful and lyrical. His movements of "shaking head", "making eyes", "crossing feet" and "snapping fingers" are basically the same as those of western region music and dance described in Tong Dian by du you of Tang Dynasty.
Kuche sainaim is a kind of folk song and dance for self entertainment. Its performance is free and lively. The dancers don't sing and the singers don't dance. With the drumming and accompaniment, the participants enter one after another, or dance alone, or dance in pairs, or dance with several people, regardless of gender. Dance room can change partners at any time, and according to their own interest and dance skills, with the rhythm of free play. At the climax, the audience clapped their hands to boost the fun, and the drum music was in harmony with each other.
Kuqa sanem dance is lyrical and steady. When men and women dance together, the emotional communication is more obscure and implicit. The lyrics of Kuqa sanem mainly express the content of love, but also sing the content of life and labor.
