Zhang's Department of orthopedics and traumatology was founded in 1823 of the Qing Dynasty. It has been more than 180 years. Zhang's seven generations of inheritance, in the manipulation of bone setting, internal and external application of traditional Chinese medicine, fir skin fixation in the treatment of rheumatic arthralgia, fracture tendon injury and other bone diseases unique.

In the early years of Daoguang reign of Qing Dynasty, Zhang zhengzhuan had to travel around and teach the martial monks the traumatology and external treatment. At the end of Daoguang's reign, his son Zhang Rukui opened baochuntang trauma department in Huangyan. Zhang Yutang, the third generation's descendant, summed up a set of internal and external principles, methods, prescriptions and medicines. By using the unique manipulation of acupoints and tendons management, we summarized the "ten methods of bone setting", that is, "hand touching, pulling and stretching, rotating and flexing, end lifting and pressing, rocking and touching, pinching and pressing, folding and turning, massage and massage, and acupoints and tendons management".
