Tianfu soy sauce and meat shop was founded in 1738, the third year of Qianlong reign in Qing Dynasty. At that time, there was a severe drought in Shandong Province. Liu Fengxiang, a native of Yexian County, Shandong Province, led his grandson Liu Diming to Beijing to make a living. He opened a soy sauce and meat shop in the northeast corner of Xidan pailou, which was named "Tianfu", implying the meaning of heaven's blessing. The sauce elbow made by Tianfu is crisp and delicious, with excellent quality. It attracts people from the top to the bottom. Empress Dowager Cixi also greatly appreciated it after tasting it, and gave it "Tianfu waist tag", which stipulated that Tianfu would send sauce elbows into the palace with the waist tag every day. Since then, "Tianfu sauce elbow" has become a tribute, and its reputation has been growing. In 1993, "Tianfu" was named "China time honored brand". So far, "Tianfu" has been passed on for eight generations. In the history of more than 270 years, its products such as sauced elbows have always maintained excellent quality.
