Regular script carving, also known as "regular script carving", is a traditional carving art popular in Qufu City, Shandong Province, with a history of more than 2000 years. In history, the high-quality regular script carvings are very valuable, and they are the tribute or gift of the Confucius government to the emperors, generals and dignitaries. Kaimu carving has many forms, such as round carving, relief carving, openwork carving and so on. The whole process consists of more than ten production links. The traditional products mainly include Shouzhang and Ruyi. Nowadays, there are nearly 100 kinds of them. They can be used to carve images of Confucius, figures, flowers and birds, animals, and stationery. Kaimu carving knife technique is simple and simple, exquisite technology, dignified and heavy modeling, both shape and spirit, with national style and regional characteristics. At present, to ensure the further inheritance and development of this special craft on the original basis is the main task of Qufu regular script carving industry in the future.
