Introduction to Pansoli
Applicant: Tieling City, Liaoning Province
Pansori is a Korean rap music, produced in the 18th century. There are two theories about its origin, one is that it was created by the artists of the rivers and lakes according to a certain drama, the other is that it originated from the songs in Shamanism rituals. Pansori is the direct translation of Korean, which means songs sung in public. In the music score of guanghanlou at the beginning of the 19th century, it was written that "the opera of singing excellence is composed of one person standing and one person sitting, while the one standing sings and the one sitting sings with drums. All the miscellaneous songs have twelve tunes, and the xiangniang song is one."
Pansoli of Korean nationality is popular in the three provinces of Northeast China, and mainly inherited in the Korean inhabited areas of Tieling, Kaiyuan and Changtu. Li Zhufeng is the most influential folk artist in the inheritance of pansouli in Tieling county. He taught Zheng Lerui and others the main aria and singing methods of pansouli he mastered. Zheng Lerui also taught Hong Huafeng and others pansouli he learned. Later, Hong Huafeng, who was a music tutor in Tieling County Cultural Center, trained many disciples such as Hong Yongji and Jin Lihao.
Pansouli has the performance characteristics of one person with many roles, mainly singing, singing in speaking and speaking in singing. Due to the narrative nature of pansouli, it is easy to express the inner feelings of the characters and has gradually become a popular music form among the Korean people. The high-level pansouli is a combination of various arts. With the cooperation of the drummer, the singer can depict the relationship between conflict and reconciliation, good and evil, beauty and ugliness of all things in the world with his own singing, speaking, body movements and a fan as props.
Pansori integrates music, literature and performance. In the early days, there were 12 performances in pansouli. Now, there are only five main aria of spring fragrance song, Shen Qingge, Xingfu song, shuigong song and Chibi song handed down by old artists like Li Zhufeng, Zheng Lerui and Hong Huafeng in Tieling. Other aria have been lost and are endangered.
